Throughout the month of November we have released updated rankings for the classes of 2025, 2024, 2023, and 2022. We take a look at the impact that out of state and international players impacted the class of 2022 and 2023 rankings.
Class of 2022
Ta’Niya Latson Ta’Niya Latson 5'8" | CG American Heritage | 2022 State #47 Nation FL (American Heritage Plantation / FBC United)
Latson is an FSU signee and helped lead her high school to a national championship last year in Georgia. Her transfer to Florida to attend American Heritage (Plantation) puts a major shakeup in the class of 2022 rankings entering Prep Girls Hoops Florida as the # 3 overall player!
Grace VanSlooten Grace VanSlooten 6'3" | PF IMG Academy | 2022 State #23 Nation FL (IMG Academy / Sports City U)
VanSlooten, like Latson move to Florida to attend IMG Academy, puts a major shakeup in the class of 2022 rankings. The 6’2 Forward who is signed to Oregon, jumps into the rankings at the number 5 spot!
Fernanda Ovalle Fernanda Ovalle 5'11" | SF Montverde Academy | 2022 State FL , originally from Chile, attends Montverde Academy while Silikiari Vazquez, Daniela Gonzalez Daniela Gonzalez 6'0" | SF Central Pointe Academy | 2022 State FL , Naylee Cortes Naylee Cortes 5'11" | PF Central Pointe Academy | 2022 State FL are all international players that attend Central Pointe Academy. Ovalle holds the # 13 spot in the class of 2022 and the Central Pointe crew are all in the Top 25!
Fatima Diakhate Fatima Diakhate 6'6" | C Montverde Academy | 2022 State FL maintains Canadian citizenship, originally attended Deerfield Beach High School as a Freshman, moved to Canada to participate in the Canadian national team development program but has returned to Florida attending Montverde Academy each of the last two years. The 6’5 center is signed to UCF and comes in as the # 18 overall player in the Class of 2022 and the # 1 Center.
Kyla Abraham Kyla Abraham 6'5" | PF Smithfield (VA) | 2022 State FL was one of the summer’s biggest stock risers, going from off the radar to picking up over 20 scholarship offers this past spring and summer. Abraham signed with Baylor and comes in as the # 10 overall player and remains in the class of 2022 Florida rankings despite moving to Virginia. She will wrap up her prep career in Virginia for her Senior season after playing three seasons at Choctowah High School and hooping it up with the Miami Suns on the EYBL circuit.
Class of 2023
Montverde Academy has three of the top 25 players in the class of 2023 that are all from out of the area. Cori Allen Cori Allen 5'10" | SG Montverde Academy | 2023 State FL jumps into the most recent rankings at # 14 after transferring to Montverde Academy. The 5’10 wing, attended Hillsboro High School in Tennessee and plays travel ball with the TN Flight. Mjaracle Sheppard transferred to Montverde Academy as well, after previously playing prep ball in the state of Washington. She comes in as the # 12 overall player in the class of 2023 and was a big part of Montverde’s success last season, helping lead them to a top 5 national ranking. Rusne Augustinaite Rusne Augustinaite 5'10" | CG Montverde Academy | 2023 State FL (like Sheppard) transferred to Montverde Academy last year, and has been an integral part of Montverde’s success. The 5’10 wing is originally from Lithunia and is ranked the # 30 overall player in the Class of 2023.
Rhema Collins Rhema Collins 6'2" | SF Webb(TN) | 2023 TN like Kyla Abraham Kyla Abraham 6'5" | PF Smithfield (VA) | 2022 State FL was one of the summer’s biggest stock risers, going from off the radar to picking up a number of scholarship offers this past spring and summer. And like Abraham, Collins has also relocated out of state, moving to Tennessee to attend The Webb School. She remains in the class of 2023 overall rankings as she jumped onto the exposure circuit with the Miami Suns and plans on continuing to play with them. She moved up from the # 15 spot to # 7 overall after an impressive summer!
