The excitement is quickly building and us here at Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey are part of that excitement. We’ve released our prospect lists for the upcoming season and this article continues a look at our 2024 list.
We’ll be talking about the No. 28-30 sophomores for this season as ranked by the Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey team.
No. 28: Kahmiyah Napier Kahmiyah Napier PG Newark Eastside | 2024 State NJ – PG/SG, Newark East Side
Napier had a fantastic freshman season for East Side, emerging as a mainstay in the starting lineup for the remainder of her high school career from the jump.
She has incredible talent and poise as a guard and has a level of maturity not many see from someone as young as her. She’s a tough-nosed player who looks to draw contact in the lane early and often.
Combine that with an excellent passing game, perimeter shooting and a notable defensive presence, you have an All-Conference level guard. Napier is a fantastic watch and should be even better this coming winter.
No. 29: Casey Serxner Casey Serxner 5'4" | PG Princeton | 2024 NJ – 5-4 PG, Princeton
Serxner had an ever-important role on a veteran-heavy team and her presence will be key to Princeton’s team success this season. She ended up leading the team in scoring, but had a balanced roster of teammates to dish the ball off to.
While her 12.0 PPG in the spring was quite impressive for as a freshman, it was the 4.4 APG that really made the difference.
She has a solid point dispersion between two-pointers and three-pointers, with around a quarter of her scoring coming from beyond the arc. That bodes well for her moving forward, especially this coming season.
No. 30: Alexis Rosenfeld Alexis Rosenfeld 6'2" | C Morris Catholic | 2024 State NJ – 6-2 C/PF, Saddle River Day
Rosenfeld is in a great place at Saddle River Day and while she didn’t have the impact of some others in her freshman season, her 6-2 frame is going to be an ever-important part of that program moving forward.
SRD returns its entire roster this season, but half of them will be seniors. Also, there was no specific impact presence in the forward position for this team last year, and having stability in the position will be ever-important.
Rosenfeld has raw talent and the gift of size as she’ll be a formidable presence for opponents to face. We’ll see how SRD chooses to utilize her this season and how much more playing time she’ll get overall.
We have plenty more coverage coming to you this basketball season, so stay tuned with Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey.
