2022
Chrishelle Washington Chrishelle Washington 5'7" | CG North Shore | 2022 State TX -5’5 (North Shore)
Washington was out last season with that dreaded 3 letter acronym and her team was out of the playoffs early yet “Shelly” was back in action doing what she does, exploding past defender throwing blistering passes on the money as well as scoring off the dribble and dropping some outside shots yet her “court presence” was just obvious as she controlled the tempo, from zero to a hunnid quite well
2023
Alyssa Freeman-5’7 (Clear Springs)
Freeman is running the 1 along with Kenna Gibson Kenna Gibson 5'5" | CG Clear Springs | 2022 State TX as Kylie Minter Kylie Minter 5'5" | SG Clear Springs | 2022 State TX is out with those 3 letters again however she did a good job of not only seeing the floor and making solid passes to teammates, her pull-up jumper was a welcomed addition to her squad as far as putting up points
2023
Tracey Matindu-5’7 (Cy Ranch)
Matindu has always been a player that not only played within herself yet understood how to score “in the flow” yet that flow can fall into overflow as she “gets buckets” for her teams, either attacking or distributing and many times using one to compliment the other yet she also has a solid jumper and plays the passing lane but her ballhandling under pressure opened things up
Laniyah Smith-5’6 (Mansfield Lake Ridge)
Smith played the passing lane very well and she also scored off the dribble the same way, very well yet her handling of the ball baseline to baseline under pressure while going full speed allowed her to hit easy targets on her squad for scoring opportunities. The midrange is nice, so is her defense, “on the ball” yet her court vision definitely made a difference
2024
Kendall Robinson Kendall Robinson 5'9" | SG North Crowley | 2024 State TX -5’10 (North Crowley)
Robinson showed no signs of not playing last club season after coming back from, you guessed it, however, you wouldn’t have guessed she would be doing some of what she was doing effortlessly. I enjoyed her so much in elementary and middle school that she was one of the first additions to the 2024 Watch List because her playing up with and against older players and standing out, stood out to me, and I’m an expert yet her strength, her confidence and her skillset are just over and beyond as she’s tall PG that makes those around her better, either with being vocal and setting them up for gimmes or just taking over off the dribble as well as mid to long-range, oh yeah, she rebounds
Danielle Ruffin Danielle Ruffin 5'5" | CG Cy Creek | 2024 TX -5’5 (Cy Creek)
Ruffin may not be related to David yet she is going to be a hit as I compared her to the former Temptations lead singer, GOOGLE it, years ago, yet those who have the temptation of trying to stay in front or with her in the open court, trust me, just get back because her SWB has her as one of the fastest in the area, under control, and her acrobatic assists and finishes are nice, so is her “on the ball” pressure
