2022
Kenna Gibson Kenna Gibson 5'5" | CG Clear Springs | 2022 State TX -5’7 G (Clear Springs)
Gibson is, how can I say this, one of the best long-ball threats in the state and overheard some officials talking about this kid dropping the 3 after two steps over the midcourt line and I never stopped sipping my soup because I have seen her get hot, like the soup yet she also cab drop the midrange and her ability to create her shot under pressure has skyrocketed since watching her drop the “catch and shoot” pre-high school
Trinity Santasiero-5’8 (Cy Creek)
Santasiero has always been a shooter, I think I first caught her in the 6th grade, and I said to her club coach “What The Chuck” which is how that started yet those NBA 3 pointers from someone that young just grabbed me and she still is as she understands how and when to set the defender up as well as drop it from just about anywhere on the court
2023
Brooklyn McKinney-5’7 PG (Mansfield Lake Ridge)
McKinney was just over the top, not just jumping for rebounds and scoring over the defender off the dribble but watching her elevate over whoever was guarding her to drop the mid to long-range was nice. She’s strong and athletic, that works too “long” as well as her “poise under pressure” as she doesn’t get flustered by the heat
Brandy Jones Brandy Jones 5'9" | CG North Crowley | 2023 State TX -5’8 CG (North Crowley)
Jones is and has always been “smooth as silk” and I called her a #BCSLock in a 2019 Tip Sheet so if you haven’t heard of her, something is wrong because she can absolutely take over a game offensively. Yeah the midrange is college-ready, so is the finishing with contact but that long ball, yeah the step-back 3, creates numerous issues for defenders as she understands how to get whoever is guarding her off balance
Sydney Colleoni-5’6 SG (SA Johnson)
Colleoni has my initials yet that isn’t why she’s on the Tip Sheet. She creates her shot nicely under pressure and her release is quick and fluid yet more importantly her shot is accurate and when you throw in the “unlimited range” part of her game as well as her ability to “catch and shoot” that speaks volumes
2024
Jayda Woods-5’3 (Summer Creek)
Woods is one of those players that a drop of a dime, can be on fire, fits her last name, yet add some gasoline because she has SWB, speed with the ball, and her stop and pop in transition is one of the best in the area but yeah, she can defend strongly, one of many trapping and pressing guards on her squad, and she can score off the dribble
