2022
Aniah Hall Aniah Hall 6'3" | PF Temple | 2022 State TX -6’2 C (Temple)
Hall has signed with the University Of North Colorada and she’s also slowly coming back from an injury and I was elated to catch her in spot minutes on opening day to get her feet sweet wet on day 2 she was swimming with ease. She’s strong and powerful, what I loved about her game when I first saw her was her DESIRE to BATTLE for rebounds, on both ends, that’s something you can’t teach and the offense came around later yet she made her presence felt on the inside by blocking shots and defending
Rene’jah Jackson-5’2 G (Temple)
Jackson has SWB, that’s my acronym for “speed with ball” and watching her go coast to coast under control to finish was nice but she also does a good job handling the ball and setting the defender up to take off the dribble, she finished that way too, showing good body control and completing after contact
Danielle Woods-5’6 G (Taft)
Woods is one of the toughest guards in her class, she dives for loose balls, she plays “on the ball defense” baseline to baseline and she can drop the jumper consistently but she also does a good job attacking the rim from multiple angles and finishing after the lick is easy because of her strength
Angelique Morgan Angelique Morgan 5'8" | CG Harker Heights | 2022 State TX -5’8 G (Harker Heights)
Morgan is smooth as silk on the court and can fill up the stat sheet effortlessly because she can drop the mid to long-range just like that., she sees the floor very well and her pinpoint passes give her squad assist opportunities but she also scores off the dribble with a very good first step. Her defense is solid and she rebounds
Empress Roberts Empress Roberts 5'6" | PG Harker Heights | 2022 State TX -5’8 G (Harker Heights)
Roberts is one of the most underrated guards in Texas’ class of 2022, no one players harder the whole game, yeah she’s one of those “never takes a play-off” types of players, and watching her stop and pop jumper in transition, mid to long-range, no joke, as well as her Barnum and Bailey worthy acrobatic finishes, tells part of her story yet it’s a novel
Avery Henderson-5’9 F (Vista Ridge)
Henderson added some firepower to this young squad, yeah she rebounded strongly on both ends and scored around the basket b ut her ability to drop the long ball opened things up. Her defense was solid, so was her ballhandling under pressure and she also played the passing lane
2023
Mercedes Perez Mercedes Perez 5'6" | CG Taft (San Antonio) | 2023 TX -5’5 G (Taft)
Perez has dropped several clutch shots over the years I’ve been watching her and she did it again in the event, dropping a deep one to send the game into overtime yet I wasn’t there however with the magic of video, here ya go. With her savviness on the court, her ability to see the floor and throw in she has one of the best peripheral visions in the state, might wanna Google that just in case it’s on SAT/ACT
