While everyone espies on the made basket or sick dunk we often forget how, or who made that play possible. In this article we’ll dive deep inside some of the best dimers/passers that return to WDA conference play that contribute in racking up their teams points.
Ella Falk Ella Falk 5'10" | SG Jamestown | 2023 State ND – Jamestown – (5’9/CG/2023) – To top off our list we have the top returning dime leader Ella Falk Ella Falk 5'10" | SG Jamestown | 2023 State ND . Last year Falk let it rain in dishing out the ball with a total of 118 assist tallying good for 5.9 apg. Falks court vision is unmatched by anyone in the WDA. She led the league in assist by more than 1.5 per game. Expect Falk to come out hot for Jamestown this year in closing in on 7 assists per game.
Madison Spacher Madison Spacher 5'11" | PF Watford City | 2022 State ND – Watford County – (5’11/SF/2022) – Coming in second is Madison Spacher Madison Spacher 5'11" | PF Watford City | 2022 State ND . Spacher is a player that can hurt teams in a variety of ways. This past season when it came to dishing out the ball she had a total of 83 assists tallying good for 4.1 apg. A lot of Spacher’s assists came from driving and dishing out the basketball to an open teammate or playing back to the basket and finding the open cutter. I expect Spacher to finish her senior year near the 4.5 assist per game range this coming season.
Piper Harris Piper Harris 5'4" | PG Mandan | 2022 State ND – Mandan – (5’4/PG/2022) – Coming in a close 3rd place we have Piper Harris Piper Harris 5'4" | PG Mandan | 2022 State ND . Harris and Mandan were up and down this year, but with a good returning core expect them to be very competitive come this winter. Harris tallied a total of 81 assists this previous season being good for 3.8 apg. Being a quick PG who can really push the ball in transition look for Harris to average somewhere within 4.3 – 4.7 apg for this coming year.
Logan Nissley Logan Nissley 6'0" | CG Bismarck Century | 2023 State ND – Century – (5’10/CG/2023) – Nissley is a player we are all too familiar with on this network. Not only is she the top returning scoring leader, but she came in a very close tied for 3rd place in total assists per game. Nissley tallied a total of 76 assists being good for 3.8 apg tieing Piper Harris Piper Harris 5'4" | PG Mandan | 2022 State ND of Mandan. Nissley can simply do it all. She has such amazing versatility on the court which places her a high D2 mid D1 level talent. Score, rebound or assist you know exactly what you are getting from Nissley on a nightly basis.
Amya Gourneau – TMCHS – (5’8/SG/2024) – TMCHS may have struggled last year, but they return some good talent that could turn around a disheartening season last year to a miraculous one this year. Gourneau played a huge role for Turtle Mountain last year offensively in being the top assists leader with 60 total dimes being good for 3 apg. Expect her contribution and production level to sky rocket into this year. I predict towards the end of the year Amya will average nearly 3.5 – 3.7 apg adding major contributions to TMCHS scoring margins.
