Post-play is so key to a team’s success that I have to show the players who do a lot of dirty work some love. Here are some players that controlled things down low for their team.
Myiah Butler | Post | 2025 | Green County Tech
Myiah had good size with long arms. She often made players think twice about driving into the lane because of her ability to block or alter shots. She rebounds the ball well and plays with some toughness. When she gets positioned on the low post she can finish around the rim.
Miranda Smith | Post | 2025 | Green County Tech
Miranda is a player that won’t get many plays called for her but she will still have an impact on the game. She hustles for loose balls, sprints back on defense, and is often in the correct help position. Any shot that goes up you can bet Miranda is going after it aggressively.
Londyn Dempster | Post | 2025 | North Little Rock
Londyn played carefree and with a lot of energy and effort. She really went after every rebound on both ends of the floor. When she secured an offensive rebound she took it back up strong. She also made herself to receive a pass for the score against contact.
Gianna James | Post | 2025 | Russellville
Gianna’s nickname from her teammates is “Worm” as in Dennis Rodman. That’s because if the ball is coming off the rim and she’s anywhere near the ball she is going to get it. Every team needs a player that has a nose for the ball and Gianna excels at her role.
Kaydence Turner | Forward | 2025 | Conway
Kaydence is not a true post player. She plays on the interior, but she can also move to the perimeter and be effective. Kaydence did a good job of setting solid on-ball screens, rolling hard, finishing in traffic, and posting up smaller players.
