Lake City would take the victory 54-48 on the road in a solid non-conference, out of state matchup. Some of the top performers are listed below.
2023 5’11 SF Taliah Lee Taliah Lee 5'11" | PF Gonzaga Prep | 2023 State WA (Gonzaga Prep) has a solid frame that stands out from the moment you walk into the gym. She is an above average athlete that is best at slashing off the ball, although she had a couple of nice drives to score in the paint. She is a recruitable prospect for some level of college.
2024 6’3 C Gillian Bears Gillian Bears 6'3" | C Gonzaga Prep | 2024 State WA (Gonzaga Prep) played very well in the time she was out on the floor. Bears has a nice touch around the basket and finishes well. She also had a couple of nice passes playing out of the short corner, finding open teammates cutting to the paint. Her mobility up and down the court is pretty good and she is another recruitable player for the Bullpups.
2022 5’10 SF’s Shanaya Byrd Shanaya Byrd 5'10" | SF Gonzaga Prep | 2022 WA and twin sister Sitara Byrd Sitara Byrd 5'10" | SF Gonzaha Prep | 2022 WA have some nice length and slashing ability. They can knock down the high post jumper, drive to the basket or facilitate to teammates well. Both could play some small college basketball.
Lake City has several prospects that will play at some level of college but two in particular had solid outings.
2024 6’2 SF Avery Waddington (Lake City HS) scored a couple times in transition, got a put back and does have range out to the three line, although her outside shot missed short a couple times. She has great length and got some deflections on the defensive end.
2024 5’7 PG Sophia Zufelt (Lake City HS) did a nice job of getting into the paint and finishing or drawing fouls. She is effective in the dribble drive and also drilled a tough, contested corner three that was a big shot in this close game. A good all around performance for Zufelt.
