From talented guards to solid post play, players from down south are making their mark to begin the high schoolseason. It is impressive to see players compete at a high level and help their teams to early success. The ability to help lead their teams is another great quality on display when watching these players. Here is a look at a few players that hit the mark.
Harmanie Dominguez
5’7 2022 PG/SG Organ Mountain HS
Elite guard Harmanie Dominguez has strong handles and can take you off the dribble and get buckets. Adding to her bag she can also step back and hit from deep. The senior has taken over in games with high-level scoring showing she is one of the top guards in the state.
The Adams State University commit is averaging 18 Pts 6 Rpg 3 Stl and 3.8 Ast
Margarita Salas Margarita Salas 5'4" | CG Mayfield | 2022 State NM
5’4 2022 PG/SG Mayfield HS
Salas impressed with her energy, strong leadership skills, and team-first mentality. This guard can defend at a high level but can also get to the bucket off the bounce and is a nice 3 point shooter who once hit 9 three-pointers in a game.

5’5 2023 PG Las Cruces HS
Christiano is a floor general who leads with confidence and is quick in transition leading the break. She has great anticipation of jumping the passing lanes for steals that lead to easy layups.

Ashida can guard multiple spots on the floor which helps her team on defense. Has shown a nice inside/out game on the offensive side that adds to her value as she can shoot the three and post up smaller guards.

Turnbow has shown solid footwork around the basket against bigger defenders. Displays a good midrange jumper that compliments her paintwork. Her solid frame allows her to protect the paint and rebound well for her team.
