I want to name a few talented kids who I believe are good enough to play at the next level, who haven’t found a school to attend and play at yet. The four players I have in mind are players I’ve been keeping tabs on this season and have at least one thing they do that can help a team at the next level.
Makenna Rohrscheib Makenna Rohrscheib 5'9" | CG Regis | 2022 State WI -5’10 G/F-Regis
Halfway through her senior season, Rohrscheib is currently 49th in the state in scoring, with 19.5 points per game. The Regis wing is a well-rounded guard with size. I have no doubts that she can lead an offense at the next level. The reasoning behind that is how confident she is with the ball in her hands. Rohrscheib doesn’t second guess herself and will usually make good decisions within an offense. There are many options her skillset will be able to give a team. If I had to guess, Rohrscheib would be able to play the one, two, three for whoever she plays for next year. Beyond her abilities on the court, she is so versatile I think she’d earn playing time early next season if a team takes her.
Callie Ziebell-5’6 G-Slinger
If there is one thing you need to know about Ziebell, she is in range when she steps into the gym. There isn’t another player in Wisconsin who is a consistent threat to take and make 3-pointers with Ziebell’s range. Most of her shots come from behind the 3-point line, and they are usually deep 3’s, and she is currently a 36% shooter from there. On the other end, Ziebell is a capable defender, but I think she’d do a great job organizing a zone at the next level.
Taylor Thiry Taylor Thiry 5'10" | PF Luxemberg Casco | 2022 State WI -5’10 F-Luxemburg-Casco
Thiry is currently averaging 17.7 points and 12 rebounds per game for Luxemburg-Casco. What the senior has that is unique is toughness. That seems generic but let me explain. When Thiry rebounds, you can tell that she wants to get the ball more than other players on the floor. When she gets into the paint, she is willing to use force to get to the rim. In my opinion, Thiry is one of the toughest players in the state and can use that to help improve a team at the next level.
Malia Green Malia Green 5'7" | SG Madison La Follette | 2022 State WI -5’7 G-Madison La Follette
The La Follette senior is an underrated player on one of the most underrated teams in the state. D. Prewitt, A. Smith, and Malia Green Malia Green 5'7" | SG Madison La Follette | 2022 State WI combine to be one of the most talented backcourts in Wisconsin. Green has been a high-level shooter this year. The Lancer has shot 39% from the 3-point line and 77% from the free-throw line. At the next level, Green will be able to shoot well enough. The Lancer has scored 17 points per game when her team has needed it most. Green has contributed to winning all season, and eventually, someone will have an interest in her.
