Imani Warren Imani Warren 5'8" | SF Rufus King | 2023 State WI -6’0 G/F-Rufus King
After not having a season last year, Warren has come out of the blocks strong this year. The General has averaged 15.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 3.8 steals. The junior has helped get the Generals back on track after not having a season a year ago. The 6-foot wing has all the measurable to play at the next level. Depending on how Warren develops, she has a chance to rise in these rankings over the next 18 months.
Lexie White Lexie White 5'11" | SG Wausau West | 2023 State WI -5’11 G/F-Wausau West
White plays well with the ball in her hands on offense. She has shot the ball incredibly well this season. Her play has translated to winning for Wausau West. However, my favorite aspect of White’s game is that she rarely turns the ball over. White possesses a great assist to turnover ratio, and having that squared away is a good sign she can play at the next level soon. The junior is laterally quick, and that shows in her defensive ability. She sticks to defenders like a fresh bandaid. I like what she brings on both ends and am excited to see how she improves.
Grace Schisel Grace Schisel 5'8" | SG New Holstein | 2023 State WI -5’9 G-New Holstein
The New Holstein junior has gotten better every year since she stepped on campus. She has gone from a below 30% 3-point shooter her freshman season to 40% this year. In that game against Sheboygan Lutheran, Schisel hit nine 3’s against a talented team and was the main reason her team ended up winning. The most impressive part of that performance is Schisel didn’t just spot up. She attacked off high ball screens, sized up her defenders, and hit shots on the move. Her offensive game is polished and will be an issue to opposing teams the rest of her time in high school.
Ashlyn Knapp Ashlyn Knapp 5'8" | PG Prairie Du Chien | 2023 State WI -5’8 G-Prairie du Chien
Knapp is one of my favorite guards in Wisconsin. The junior is one of the most aggressive passers I’ve seen. If a player is open and not paying attention, Knapp might accidentally hit them with a pass. She averages over four assists per game and possesses a solid assist to turnover ratio. Although she’s much more of a facilitator, she still has a nice-looking jumper she can use to beat teams. Knapp plays extremely smart and is a big part of how Prairie du Chien has become one of the best Divison 3 teams in the state.
Kailey Wozniak Kailey Wozniak 5'9" | CG Pius Xi Catholic | 2023 State WI -5’9 G/F-Pius XI
The Pius wing is currently the Lady Popes leading scorer, but there is much more to her game than just scoring. Wozniak is a team player who is willing to do anything to win. I’ve seen her and her Pius team three times now, and I’ve seen three different versions of Kailey Wozniak Kailey Wozniak 5'9" | CG Pius Xi Catholic | 2023 State WI . The first game I saw her play, she was scoring efficiently. The second night, she played away from the ball, and in the third game, she was put on an island and held her own defensively against one of the best seniors in Wisconsin. Wozniak is versatile, and her size and athleticism help her play many different roles. I’m also a believer in her figuring her shooting woes out at some point, I’m not sure what she needs to figure it out, but when she does, she goes to another level.
Elly Kohl Elly Kohl 5'9" | CG Fort Atkinson | 2023 State WI -5’9 G-Fort Atkinson
The Fort Atkinson guard is a hard-working kid that is good enough to play at the next level. Fort Atkinson may not be one of the most prestigious programs in Wisconsin, but Kohl still shines. Since she has been there, that team has gotten better. It has been marginal, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Kohl helps her team take another jump over the next 18 months. Kohl seems like a kid who will do anything she can to get the most out of herself. I believe Kohl is a good culture kid. The work ethic she has is infectious.
Jaiden Dornaus Jaiden Dornaus 5'7" | CG Columbus | 2023 WI -5’7 G-Columbus
The main thing I gathered from seeing Dornaus play is how high her motor runs. There isn’t a loose ball that the Columbus guard doesn’t think she can save. She is also one of the most aggressive rebounding guards I’ve seen. The Cardinal fights for everything she gets. Offensively, there is plenty of room for her to improve these next 18 months. However, I think she brings good things to a school at the next level.
Kyra Bisarek Kyra Bisarek 5'6" | CG Hillsboro | 2023 WI -5’6 G-Hillsboro
The Hillsboro guard has played well to start the season. Bisarek has been solid in every aspect for a Hillsboro team with plenty of talent. The main issue for her is efficiency, both in scoring and facilitating. I like her ability to play as a lead guard. Her problems shooting and turning the ball over, a little too much, will sort themselves out with time. Her play will be huge this postseason for a team that could surprise.
Ashley Davies Ashley Davies 5'11" | SF Waukesha North | 2023 WI -5’11 F-Waukesha North
The Northstar has the size and skill to be a good wing at the next level. She rebounds well and can finish with both hands around the rim. I think she can be a versatile piece for a Northstar team that hasn’t traditionally been threatening in the Classic 8. Her talent can fly under the radar because most people don’t see Waukesha North as having much athletic talent, but Davies has potential.
Marin Riesen Marin Riesen 5'9" | CG Lakeside Lutheran | 2023 WI -5’10 G/F-Lakeside Lutheran
Riesen is a versatile wing at Lakeside Lutheran who can guard most positions on the floor. She also has some efficiency issues with her scoring. Her jumper looks good, but it appears slightly uncomfortable. Riesen is an explosive athlete with plenty of juice attacking off the dribble. I think that Riesen is a good enough athlete to play at the next level, but if she figures out how to score effectively, she has the potential to thrive at the next level. She isn’t too far off of being a fascinating prospect. There are only a few things that need to get cleaned up these next 18 months.
