In order for the team to win you have to have some solid play from the individual player. Let’s look at some players that are helping their team make a run for a state championship early in conference play.
Carson Dillard | Guard | 2022 | Farmington High School
Carson is a threat from the three-point line. Well, actually she has range beyond the three-point line. She can spot up or run off screens for the catch and shoot. If the defense closes out hard on the catch, she can attack off the dribble and make a play for herself at the rim or find a teammate.
Megan Hernandez | Wing | 2022 | Farmington High School
Megan applies good on-ball pressure with active hands to disrupt the offensive player’s dribbling and passing. She also does a good job of offering help on penetration and recovering to the player she’s guarding. She sprints when transitioning down the floor, has good hands and can make the short corner jumper.
Kaitlyn Caswell | Wing | 2024 | Gentry High School
Kaitlyn gives great effort on both ends of the floor. Defensively she’s a solid defender by playing the passing lanes and making the offense work to get open. She can grab the defensive rebound and then push it in transition for the finish.
Lindsey Aday Lindsey Aday 5'8" | PF Pottsville | 2022 State AR | Wing | 2022 | Posttsville High School
Lindsey does a good job of attacking the defense with her dribble and being able to make the pass to the post for the easy finish. When in transition she always has her head up and looks to make the pass up the floor. Defensively she has good hands and anticipation.
Rilee Underwood | Post | 2022 | Pottsville High School
Rilee does a good job of relocating when a teammate penetrates. This allows her to get in position for the easy finish or put her in position to grab the offensive rebound. She has soft hands, rebounds well, and plays strong with her ability to play through contact. She also exhibits good footwork on the low block.
Jada Brown Jada Brown C Bentonville | 2022 State AR | Point Guard | 2022 | Bentonville High School
Jada is one of the top players in the state. She can catch and shoot the three, she pushes the ball well in transition which makes it tough for the defense to contain her with the ball. When attacking she’s really good at changing speeds. Her ability to change speeds gets the defense off balance and she’s able to get in the lane and make plays for others. She can also play without the ball. She fills the lane in transition and plays well off screens.
