2022
Caitlyn Panuco Caitlyn Panuco 5'6" | PG Whitney | 2022 State TX -PG (Whitney)
Panuco is a legitimate Top 100 player and the unsigned senior continues to do what I saw her doing before high school and that’s “find ways to put the ball in the basket”. She can score off the dribble, drop the mid to long-range yet what she also does is “make those around her better” and her ball-handling and court vision played a huge part in their victory because she sets her teammates up for easy baskets but her scoring was also a big plus
Madison Fields-PG (Hitchcock)
Fields handles the ball under pressure quite well and with her explosiveness in the open court coupled with her “seeing the floor” she puts teammates in positions to score. She also has a nice pull-up jumper, that stop, and pop in transition is very impressive but I also like her defense as she can apply heat baseline to baseline
Jaiden Dotson-5’7 SG (Hitchcock)
Dotson was a force on the inside, I love players that “go after the ball off the rim” and she definitely does that yet her rebounding with authority is only part of what she does, her interior defense is solid, so is her stepping outside of the paint to “man-up” yet she did a good job attacking the basket from the wing as well as fin fishing after contact
Lakey Thibodeaux-C (Hitchcock)
Thibodeaux hit the boards hard on both ends yet I was impressed with her physicality as well as being able to understand how to use her body inside the paint. She’s strong and did a good job finishing after contact, she also ran the floor on both ends and showed she could score facing the basket
Deja Threadgill-SF (McGregor)
Threadgill has the right name because I saw her “thread the needle” a few times yet she’s heady and plays within herself, that’s huge and understands how to take over when needed, that’s HUGER so watching her create her shot under pressure to either drop the jumper or attack the basket was pretty good
2023
Tabitha Johnson Tabitha Johnson 6'2" | PF Whitney | 2023 State TX -C (Whitney)
Johnson was a 7th grader playing against high school players yet I first saw her in the 5th grade and was overly impressed even then with her upside. She has good hands and footwork, she loves the contact, it doesn’t slow her down and she delivers on the inside yet she’s added that midrange jumper
