In this article:
The class of 2022 watch list was updated in the state of North Carolina. Here are some new names that were added to the list who certainly know how to dominate around the block and beyond.
Zarriah White Zarriah White 5'11" | PF Forest Hills | 2022 NC | Forest Hills
White is versatile with where she can play on the court. She can get the ball at the elbow knowing exactly how to turn and drive to the basket. She pulls up for the jumper, and she has a nice floater that she uses as well. On the defensive side of the ball, her length is crucial when it comes to pressing her opponents jumping in front of passes to take them the other direction. She gets inside on both ends of the court to grab rebounds, and she stays ready to put it back up through the hoop after grabbing offensive rebounds.
Jocelyn Foust Jocelyn Foust 6'2" | C Southwest Guilford | 2022 NC | Southwest Guilford
Foust (pictured above) has been scoring in double digits regularly this season as she is constantly moving on the court looking for the openings. She is flashes in the paint or cuts across the baseline to shift the defense. She knows exactly how to shoot over people making sure that their contact doesn’t deter her from putting the ball through the hoop. She has nice speed on her close outs to block shots or even jump in front of an opponent to grab the steal.
Yahriea Peeler Yahriea Peeler 5'10" | C Shelby | 2022 NC | Shelby
Many people know about the guards at Shelby, but they don’t realize how balanced of an attack the Golden Lions can have due to the inside presence of Peeler. She seals off her opponents to get the entry pass or grab the rebound for her team. She is constantly shifting from block to block to make sure she can always contribute on the offensive side of the ball. She flashes well from the top of the key down the middle of the lane ready to catch and shoot.
Aquarius Pettaway Aquarius Pettaway 5'10" | PF North Pitt | 2022 State NC | North Pitt
Pettaway is averaging a double-double this season showing her strength in grabbing rebounds and her persistence when getting her own points. She doesn’t need to catch and shoot as she puts the power in power dribble to reposition if needed and put the ball through the hoop. She has a nice jump shot that she can show off, too, showing her ability to move around the court causing problems for her opponents no matter where she is.
