Tompkins’ Flyin Adeleye Flyin Adeleye 6'0" | PF Tompkins | 2023 State TX is listed on The Top 100 and her inside presence definitely was key to their victory while huge three pointers from Audrey Hernandez (Stratford) as well as a block at the buzzer from Holly Horton (Stratford) were definite highlights yet here are some others
2022
Brooklyn Nash-5’3 PG (Tompkins)
Nash did a good job of not only creating her shot under pressure but finishing the same way, after contact and her poise down the stretch was huge in both regulation and overtime. She dropped the pull-up jumper and did a good job seeing the floor and making the right passes and her 3 pointer at the end of the 3rd quarter got them going
Jasmine Green-5’9 SF/PF (Stratford)
Green caught my eye as a freshman in the SBISD Invitational and I was overly impressed with her upside as well as what she showed on the court, she understood how to BATTLE and the battling played a huge part in her squad almost pulling off the upset and leading them to probably their first Elite 8 yet she definitely used her power and her clutch free throws down the stretch helped get them into OT
2023
Macy Spencer-5’5 CG (Tompkins)
Spencer can score yet she showed something different in the early part of the game, how valuable her “on the ball” defense was and that helped fuel her team’s first-half comeback yet in the second half, she mixed it up dropping buckets as well as free throws
Jakayla Cheeves-5’4 CG (Stratford)
Cheeves definitely gave her squad a boost, she a deceptive first step, and that, coupled with her athleticism enable her to take the defender off the dribble and finish, after contact and put in her some “and one” situations yet she also dropped a huge 3 and played solid defense
2025
Rihanna De’Leon (Tompkins)
De’Leon has plenty of upside as she understands how to get hers “in the flow” yet her long ball was flowing at the right time so when you factor in her pull-up jumper is consistent, even with a hand in her face, she is definitely on track
Rachel Ashby-5’4 PG (Stratford)
Ashby caught my eye at Prime Time Nationals a couple of years ago, platform matters when someone s looking at you so watching her show signs of being one of the top point guards in the area in the not so distant future was apparent as her ability to run her team as she sees the floor, makes the right passes and can score off the jumper or off the dribble yet she also plays the passing lane well
Speaking of highlights, my daughter has had an amazing career and this brought back so many memories
