This year will be different for the class of 2022 because it’s not another AAU season amongst them. Players who have been playing probably since the fourth grade will have to make decisions on colleges to attend. Many of the top 2022 prospects in the state of Virginia have already committed, some are still waiting to figure out where they’re going to go with the offers that they have. Here are some good prospects that are under the radar that coaches may want to contact and pick up!
Yasmine Brown Yasmine Brown 5'7" | CG Kings Fork | 2022 State VA 5’7 CG Kings Fork
Yasmine has been playing at a high level since seventh grade. She’s a veteran when it comes to basketball she has eclipsed the thousand point mark this season. Even with a talented Kings Fork team, she’s proven to be the senior leader. She can do it all from the guard position a very smart and tough defender. She does currently hold offers she will be a steal for any college program!
Angel Jones Angel Jones 5'7" | PG Forest Park | 2022 State VA 5’7 PG Forest Park
A very explosive point guard that can single-handedly put a team on her back. She has consistently produced and pumped out big numbers the season with multiple 30 point games. Angel has a scorer’s mentality and can get a bucket at any time on the floor. She has D1athleticism and just needs to get seen a little more. She can secure a lot more interest with a deep playoff run with Forest Park!
Cherese Lamkins 6’1 PF St. Gertrude HS
Cherese is the Prototypical stretch 4 that will help any college program. She Is a two-time state champion, has a nice smooth jump shot that she can hit from anywhere on the floor. A very good rebounder and shot-blocker. With her length, she can even be a capable defender on the wing if needed. She’s a big piece of their current big three that are signed to D1 programs!
Savana Goodson Savana Goodson 6'3" | C TPLS Christian Academy | 2022 State VA 6’3 Post TPLS Christian Academy
Great size and athleticism, really light on her feet. Has really good post moves and can finish with either hand. Savana has played against high-level competition for the past three years in high school. This season she has been dealing with a couple of nagging injuries that has slowed her down. On the biggest stage of the season at She Got Game DC she posted three straight doubles versus some of the top competition in the country!
Jeni Levine Jeni Levine 5'6" | CG Staunton HS | 2022 State VA 5’6 CG Staunton HS
Probably one of the most competitive players in her class that I have seen. Last year she lead the resurgence of the Team Loaded girls AAU program. Quick fast shifty guard that can play both guard positions at a high level. She’s put a good résumé together a thousand-point scorer this season will be a great college player.
Olivia Brooks Olivia Brooks 6'1" | C Bishop Ireton | 2022 State VA 6’1 PF Bishop Ireton
Olivia tore her ACL over the summer but the talent is definitely there! She attends one of the better girls’ basketball programs in the state. With her size and frame, she can consistently score in the low block. Has always consistently posted a double-double.
Caitlyn Shumadine Caitlyn Shumadine 5'7" | SG Langley HS | 2022 State VA 5’7 CG Langley HS
A great shooter that you can’t leave open. She played on elevate elite’s top SSB team. During the Covid year, they continued to play and Caitlyn just lit it up behind the arch and mid-range! Had a lot of momentum going into last summer. She did pick an offer from Upstate but she still looking to find a home with a college program.
