Paige Werner Paige Werner 6'0" | PF Neenah | 2022 State WI -6’1 F-Neenah
Werner has some of the best instincts I’ve seen from anyone this season. The Rocket has a knack for getting into open pockets of space. Werner is a 33% 3-point shooter, but I think Werner’s a better shooter than she’s shown statistically. Her athleticism also makes her an attractive option for schools looking for players. She is talented enough to guard one to five at the college level. It’s not often schools get a shot at a legitimate high-level 3&D prospect this late into the process, but here’s Werner.
Callie Smith Callie Smith 6'0" | PF Belleville | 2022 State WI -6’0 F-Belleville
The Belleville senior is her school’s leading rebounder as of this week. If Smith is given an opportunity at the next level, whichever school she ends up at will love her game. Smith currently averages 14 rebounds per game as a senior, which means a few things. For one, she’s tough to attack the glass as she does. Two, rebounding has a lot to do with her determination to get around box-outs, track long rebounds, and get into a good position. Right now, Smith can earn a team extra possessions.
Elena Barnes Elena Barnes 5'10" | CG New Berlin West | 2022 State WI -5’10 G-New Berlin West
The New Berlin native is a player that seems to find the ball all the time. As a guard, she averages nine rebounds per game. Barnes also has a positive assist to turnover ratio, and I was lucky enough to see her play Waunakee. In that game, the Viking seemed to have everything under control. Although it was a double-overtime game, I liked what Barnes did. She broke the Warriors’ press by herself and helped kill a lot of the clock by setting up the offense and not turning the ball over. Her size makes her an intriguing prospect because she’s a taller athletic guard who takes care of the ball.
McKenna Monogue McKenna Monogue 6'0" | SF Middleton | 2022 State WI -6’0 G/F-Middleton
The Middleton guard is an odd-ball. Monogue is a tall guard that is an excellent passer with good court vision. However, as a senior, she’s had to force the issue because her team has found themselves in precarious positions. Even with the bad luck, Middleton has had, Monogue has shown flashes of brilliance on the court. I think she could end up being a solid shooter at the college level, but her ability as a passer could break defenses if used as a secondary playmaker. Her size, especially as a guard, would lead me to believe someone should take a chance on her because she could help a school win games.
