I have been ranting about the untapped talent in West Texas and it was good for me to continue to prove myself right about what I say as I caught even more so I’m dropping the 3 of 4 teams that had rosters online, I can only go by what’s presented so with double entries #10 was either Paige Parker or Blair Boyd (Lubbock Christian) and they did a good job of attacking the rim and seeing the floor yet the quick hands enabled whichever to come away with steals
2022
Brooke Hooten-6’1 PF (Lubbock Christian)
Hooten showed good hands and footwork, finished with ease around the basket, and scored off the dribble yet she also did a good job seeing the floor and hitting teammates from the top of the key as well as handling the ball in the open court
Skylar Simmons-CG (Lubbock Christian)
Simmons dropped the long ball a few times but she also created her shot from the outside and took turns taking the jumper or attacking the rim yet her rebounding on both ends also stood out
Abigail Crow-5’8 SG (Lubbock Christian)
Crow went completely off on the offensive end as she scored from mid to long-range, set the defender up to take them off the dribble, and scored after playing the passing lane. The pull-up jumper is nice, in the set or transition
Lexi Cadell-SF (Lubbock Christian)
Cadell rebounded strongly on both ends plus she also handled the ball under pressure as well as saw the floor, also under pressure
Gracin Bonner-PF/C (Trinity Christian)
Bonner knocked the midrange down, showed she could create her shot while being pressured and she rebounded
Menaiya Ewing Menaiya Ewing 5'6" Trinity Christian -Lubbock | 2022 TX -PG (Trinty Christian)
Ewing had me with an aha moment as I knew I had seen her somewhere so when her name popped in with the PGH Top 250 link, so many things came back to me. She handled the ball under pressure, uses her body well, and made some good passes
Alaina Croft (Jayton)
Croft was crafty as she showed she could definitely create her shot and drop the midrange yet her attacking the basket was nice, so was her playing the passing lane
2024
Katie Holcombe-G (Trinity Christian)
Holcombe understands how to get to her spot, that’s because she created her shot well for either the pull-up jumper or taking the defender off the dribble
Daylee Chisum (Jayton)
Chisum ain’t no movie on the court yet she moved me immediately with her stop and pop jumper in transition yet she does a good job creating her shot for the mid to long-range as well as scoring off the dribble
Kamryn Nail (Jayton)
Nail has the right last name because she can definitely NAIL the jumper while being defended. She also has a nice first step to get to the basket and score, she plays the passing lane and she rebounds
2025
Kiah Buchanan-SG/SF (Trinity Christian)
Buchanan was impressive yet even more so as I see she’s a freshman and watching her handle the ball under pressure coast to coast and making some solid passes was nice as she did things instinctively yet she also applied heat on the defensive end
