The event had players with different skillsets and abilities making it a great chance to show what they (the participants) can do on the court thanks to several 5 on 5 scrimmages.
Here are some players who also had a good 2022 Big Time Hoops Showcase:
Angelique Abeyta Angelique Abeyta 5'3" | PG Cleveland (RioRancho) | 2022 State NM , Cleveland HS, Rio Rancho, 5’2” 2022
Abeyta is a guard that does exceptionally well inside of the 3pt line. The Senior has a solid pull up jumper with good form that is money inside 15 feet. Abeyta is a good transition player that finishes contested layup well. She also showed the ability to drive baseline and finish shots. Abeyta averaged 10ppg at the BTH Showcase.
Olivia Montano Olivia Montano 5'4" | CG Sandia | 2024 State NM , West Mesa HS, Albuquerque, 5’4” 2024
Francia is one of the more polished underclassmen with the ability to score in different ways. The Sophomore can hit the 3ball with good rhythm – she made 7 during the 5 on 5s – and can drive to the basket finishing with good control. Francia averaged 10.5ppg at the BTH Showcase.
Daci Smith, Roswell HS, Roswell, 5’5” 2023
Smith is a quick Guard that is fundamentally sound. Smith showed the ability to score within and beyond the 3pt arc; The Junior moves well without the ball (off ball) finding open space making sure to not be stagnant – Smith averaged 7.5ppg at the BTH Showcase.
Alyssa Abascal, El Dorado HS, El Paso, 5’4” 2023
Abascal is a quick Guard that does a good job of getting downhill attacking the basket. The Junior is able to finish in traffic and does a good job shielding off the defender on contact. Abascal can hit the 3ball with good range and averaged 7.5ppg at the BTH Showcase.
