No matter where they are listed in the rankings, these girls have shown that they deserve to be mentioned amongst some of the state’s best players. These girls have shown throughout the course of the season their skills and abilities to thrive on the court. They have taken the necessary steps to garnish the attention of scouts as well as fellow coaches who have nominated them for different awards. Whatever the case may be, these girls are worthy to be mentioned for their hard work and dedication to the game.
Here are a few newcomers who have cracked the top 230 list in the junior class.
Abigail Sasser Abigail Sasser 5'10" | PF Monterey | 2023 State TN (5’10/ PF/ Jr./ Monterey)– New to the scene, Abigail contributed big-time for her club in various aspects. From scoring points to gaining rebounding opportunities, she helped propel her team down the stretch in providing extra possessions. Look for her to step into a more established role next year as she continues to build upon her recent success.
Charlotte Lambright Charlotte Lambright 5'11" | PF Brentwood | 2023 State TN (5’11/ PF/ Jr./ Brentwood)– During tournament time, came in clutch down the stretch getting rebounds and knocking down some high % shots. Charlotte knows how to utilize her size to her advantage and find open gaps to exploit. Contributed highly on the offensive end by getting second chance opportunities and knocking down shots. Drew tough defensive assignments, which she held her own as her team competed deep into the tournament.
Nicole Rizane Nicole Rizane 5'6" | PG Summit | 2023 State TN (5’6/ PG/ Jr./ Summit)– Speedy floor general who has a knack for being around the ball. Nicole is a smart kid who always seems to be making the right play. She is a feisty player who plays the game with a go get em attitude. From knocking down shots from 3 to getting into the painted area, Nicole is a two way player who can score the ball and defend.
Shun Bobo Shun Bobo 5'6" | PG Memphis Academy of Health Science | 2023 State TN (5’6/PG/Jr./MAHS)– Speedy kid who can score the rock. Has great handles and can attack downhill, leaving her defenders in the dust. A multi-level scorer who has grown throughout the course of her HS career. Doesn’t shy away from a challenge and looks to build upon her junior season success with a great upcoming travel ball season.
Albany Collins Albany Collins 5'1" | PG Jackson-Southside | 2023 State TN (5’1/PG/Jr./ Jackson-Southside)– The little engine that could, Albany doesn’t let her height hold her back. This young lady can fill it up, as she is no stranger to finding the bottom of the net. She uses her speed and quickness to attack areas to facilitate passes or knock down shots. Feisty on the defensive end, she is going to make it a dog fight for whatever opponent she is matched up with that night. Talented kid who will only kid better.
Juleigh Ann Tucker (5’8/SG/ Jr./ TKA)– Tough kid whose stock will surely rise this upcoming travel ball season. JA had a tremendous junior high school season. A multi-level scorer who can read and react with the best of them. From taking the ball to the rack to knocking pull-up shots, Ms. Tucker is going to be someone to keep an eye out for. Plays the game hard and the right way. Two way player who does the little things right for her club. Look for her to attract the eyes of some coaches this upcoming travel ball season.
