Incarnate Word will face Kickapoo for the state championship on Friday at 2 p.m. Blue Springs South will take on St. Joseph’s in the third-place game at 10 a.m.
Here is a look at the top standouts from Thursday’s semifinals contest:
Incarnate Word
Saniah Tyler Saniah Tyler 5'7" | PG Incarnate Word Academy | 2022 State #43 Nation MO : The 5’7″ 2022 Kentucky recruit scored a team-high 11 points and ran the show before taking a seat after 15 minutes of action. She has the quickness and creative handles to get a shot whenever she wants, but she is also an elite passer and defender as well.
Kaylynn James: The 5’11” 2024 wing scored nine points as she displayed her overall versatility during the game. She is physically strong and she uses her size and height to her advantage very well. She is very skilled with the ball to be a confident playmaker.
Peyton Hill Peyton Hill 5'10" | SG Incarnate Word Academy | 2025 State MO : The 5’10” 2024 guard got a lot of run in the semifinals and she was impressive with his skill set and athleticism. She is very fluid in her movements as she had some very nice full court dashes with the ball as she changed directions well while on the move.
Kickapoo
Bella Fontleroy: The 6’2″ Baylor recruit was a dominant force in the game with 24 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and two blocks. She’s a matchup nightmare with her size and ability to operate anywhere on the court. She scores easily in the post, but her perimeter game is also money. She closed the first half with a step-back 3-pointer that was tough. She can also facilitate offense as a playmaker.
Kaya Johnson: The 5’7″ 2024 guard came through with a big game as she had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. She was really good in the third quarter when the Lady Chiefs started to take over the game. She was effective on the attack with mid range jumpers and runners in the lane. She also moved well without the ball.
Kaya Goldsby Kaya Goldsby 5'7" | PG Kickapoo | 2022 State MO : The 5’8″ 2022 guard had a solid game with seven points, three rebounds and three assists. She handles the ball well and she competes hard at both ends of the floor to make positive plays for her team.
Blue Springs South
Jaidynn Mason Jaidynn Mason 5'5" | PG Blue Springs South | 2022 State MO : The 5’6″ 2022 guard had an impressive outing with a team-high 18 points, along with five rebounds and three steals. She had good quickness and anticipation on defense as she darted the passing lanes for steals and layups. She attacked the basket well with a nice mid-range jumper on the stop and pop.
Tiyani Rollins Tiyani Rollins 5'5" | PG Blue Springs South | 2022 State MO : The 5’4″ 2022 guard finished with eight points, two rebound and two steals. She has impressive quickness and she had quick hands as well which was good for ball hawking and picking pockets.
St. Joseph’s
Kiley Duchardt: The 5’11” 2022 forward finished with seven points, five rebounds and three steals. She is an excellent all-purpose player who can score and rebound in the post or serve as a secondary ball handler who can pass it well from the high post.
