#17 Kaitlyn Duhon Kaitlyn Duhon 6'0" | SF Summer Creek | 2022 State TX -6’0 SG (Summer Creek) @kkaitlynjanay
Duhon signed with Auburn early and is leading her team back to state, ironically joining Desoto who was their opening-round opponent is the event yet Duhon is truly a #THROWBACK and her being long and athletic isn’t enough, she’s ULTRA athletic and there isn’t an abundance of that like it used to be. She has good timing to block shots, she rebounds on both ends, defends baseline to baseline, and can drop the jumper from outside
#25 Amyria Walker Amyria Walker 5'7" | CG Burleson Centennial | 2022 State TX -5’7 CG (Burleson Centennial) @D1Myri
Walker definitely fell off my radar, kept missing her due to the team not turning in rosters, yed let me stress again how important something so small can be yet she’s also one of the top UNSIGNED PLAYERS in Texas. She has an explosive first step, finishes after contact using not only good body control but she’s also powerful and when you can handle the ball and see the floor as she does as well as drop the jumper, her playing the COMBO at the next level is definitely going to create problems
#38 Hailey Adams Hailey Adams 6'0" | PG SA Clark | 2022 State TX -6’0 PG (SA Clark) @HaileyAdamsTX
Adams signed with Rice and let me say this when she’s on the court, the gravy is thick because she does something very important from the 1, she makes those around her better, and after catching her with her club team over the summer as well as on LIVESTREAM in the playoffs, she just showed how versatile she is at her since. Court vision and ball-handling are very good, she’s heady and can score either by overpowering smaller guards off the dribble or with the outside shot
#39 Kelsie Hawkins Kelsie Hawkins 5'5" | PG Reagan | 2022 State TX -5’5 PG ( SA Reagan) @Kelsie3Hawkins
Hawkins is one of the quickest guards in the open court in the state so SWB, speed with the ball, is the acronym, and trying to stay with her is hard to do yet she stays under control with her change of direction and her ability to see the floor going full speed is second to none as the ball blazes by defenders to teammates yet keep in mind she can score a number of ways including creating her shot for the mid to long-range yet that same creativity enables her to attack with either hand
#40 Briley Barnes Briley Barnes 6'1" | SF Amarillo | 2022 State TX -6’1 SF (Amarillo)
Barnes handles the ball well under pressure and can create her shot yet she also scores off the dribble but she’s long and athletic, remember that is and always will be the base, and watching her effortlessly drop the jumper, well Tulsa is definitely getting a solid prospect but I also enjoyed watching her maneuver in the basket as well as rebound on both ends of the court and also defend, on the ball
#41 McKenzie Smith McKenzie Smith 5'11" | SF Amarillo | 2023 State TX – 6’0 SF (Amarillo) @Macjoyce5
Smith is solid all the way around because she understands the importance of rebounding and not being cemented to the floor ao wherever it comes off the rim, she’s there, on both ends yet she also does a good job playing “on the ball” defense and if that isn’t enough, her body control coupled with her size makes her an “and one” waiting to happen because she creates contact and can finish after the lick
