A lot of talented players in the class of 2022 signed to continue their careers in college. There are still some good players available to be signed here in Northeast Florida. Let’s take a look at some of the wing players.
Tai Baldwin | University Christian | SG/SF
Tai is a very athletic wing. She uses that athletic ability to slash to the basket and finish with ease. She led her her final four team in scoring this season. She was one of the top scorers in Northeast Florida. She can score on all three levels but does must of her damage in the paint. Tai also uses that athletic ability on the defensive end. She is constantly in the passing lanes disrupting the opponents offense. She turns steals into easy baskets for her team.
Monique Cepeda | University Christian | SG/SF
Monique transferred into Northeast Florida from South Carolina. She made her lone season in Florida worth while. She was a major contributor on a team that went to the final four. She is a true team player and did whatever was necessary for her team to win. A lot of what she does won’t show up on the stat sheet. Monique is a versatile player and can play multiple positions on offense and defense. She has a great shot and can score on all three levels but looks to set up her teammates first.
Samantha Freeland Samantha Freeland 5'7" | SG Mandarin | 2022 State FL | Mandarin | SG/SF
Samantha is a smooth, left-handed shooter. Her shot looks effortless at times and she has range out to the logo. She can catch fire quick if she hits the first shot so you can’t leave her open at all. Even if she is off, the threat of her shooting often opens the lane for her teammates to drive because you can’t leave her open. Samantha can also hit the midrange jump shot when run off the three-point line.
Lariel Green | University Christian | SG/SF
Lariel has been the epitime of consistency for her team this season. She has a calming presence on the court. She does a little bit of everything on the court for her team and showed her versatility playing multiple positions, including point guard at times. She can score on all three levels. Lariel is also a good defender and rebounders. She uses her long arms and quickness to disrupt opposing offenses. She is a high IQ player.
Brenae Watkins Brenae Watkins CG San Jose Prep | 2022 State FL | San Jose Prep | SF
Brenae is the ultimate team player. Over her high school career she has had to switch roles almost every season due to injuries and changes on her team. She took it all in stride and excelled in each role. Brenae has literally played every position on the court and has never complained about it. The best part of her game is her defensive and rebounding ability. She can guard all five positions and has some of the best defensive instincts in Northeast Florida.
