I finish up with part two and a look at some players here that made the most of their weekend.
Naomi Kimble, Animas HS, Animas, NM 6’0″ Senior
Naomi Kimble was a high motor player that used her length to create havoc on defense blocking numerous shots on drives to the basket. Naomi ran the floor well and scored in transition and also worked well in the post and finished around the basket. Kimble’s length and athleticism stood out on the court, Naomi averaged 10.3 pts.
Leslie Mojica, Andress HS, El Paso, TX 5’8″ Junior
Leslie Mojica played with confidence showing good ball-handling and a smooth jump shot. Mojica showed the ability to get to the basket off the dribble and did not hesitate to hit the outside shot knocking down 4 triples and averaging 8.2 pts.
Mistidawn Roybal Mistidawn Roybal 5'7" | PF Robertson | 2023 State NM , Robertson HS, Las Vegas, NM 5’9″ Senior
Roybal showed her quickness on both ends of the court. Misti had active hands-on defense and worked hard on the glass. Roybal showed the ability to go hard to the basket and finish but also had a nice post-up drop-step spin move in the paint. Roybal averaged 10.7 pts.
Jasmin Holt, Chapin HS, El Paso, TX, 5’8″ Junior
Jasmin Holt had a strong all-around game. Holt showed her strength handling the ball and in her passes always looking to get her teammates involved. A very confident and calm demeanor was displayed on both sides of the ball and looked the part of a college prospect. Jasmin averaged 7 pts.
Priscilla Diaz, Burges HS, El Paso, TX, 5’3″ Sophomore
Diaz is a true PG able to lead the team and direct the offense showing strong ball-handling skills with her head up looking for the open player. Priscilla also showed some deep range and let everyone know that if you back off her she can knock it down from deep hitting 5 three pointers.
