The rankings team did an update in the class of 2023 so I wanted to highlight some players whose junior year performances have them on the rise:
Juliana Garcia Juliana Garcia 5'7" | SG The Vanguard School | 2023 State CO – The Vanguard School – #23 up to #17
College programs that want to play with pace should look to 5’7″ scorer, Juliana Garcia Juliana Garcia 5'7" | SG The Vanguard School | 2023 State CO . She scored 17.0 PPG with 6.3 RPG and 2.5 SPG this year, highlighted by a 27 point performance win a 59-50 Sweet 16 win over Centauri.
Mya Cotto Mya Cotto 5'7" George Washington | 2023 CO – George Washington – #114 up to #19
Perhaps no one did more for their team and for their own recruiting profile than Mya Cotto Mya Cotto 5'7" George Washington | 2023 CO . The fast guard with confident handles used her defense to create opportunities for herself and her teammates. She snagged 3.1 steals per game on the way to averaging 16.6 PPG and hitting 31% of her threes.
Amelia Rosin Amelia Rosin 6'1" | PF Monarch | 2023 State CO – Monarch – #52 up to #28
Monarch finished their dream season without their 6’1″ anchor inside. Rosin had a huge season before her ankle injury on January 25th with 12.4 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. She dropped 16 and 25 in back to back wins over ThunderRidge and Centaurus, went for 17 in beating Ralston Valley, and also had a big game with 15 in their win over Fossil Ridge.
Jacy Rohr Jacy Rohr 5'4" | PG Liberty | 2023 State CO – Liberty – #96 up to #29
Point guard Jacy Rohr Jacy Rohr 5'4" | PG Liberty | 2023 State CO was another big time riser this year exploding for 17.9 PPG and 2.9 per game in both steals and assists. I was at their overtime loss at Lakewood where Rohr did absolutely everything she could to keep the Lancers’ season alive, hitting 6 or 8 threes on the way to a career high 29 points.
Nevaeh Golden Nevaeh Golden 5'3" | PG Denver East | 2023 State CO – Denver East – #48 up to #35
This shifty Angel did it all this year, peppering box scores with 15.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals, and an impressive 3.5 assists per game. What a huge junior season! Golden does most of her damage at the rim. At 5’6″ it could be easy to overlook her but 1.3 points per shot for someone who doesn’t hit a ton of threes demonstrates a high level ability to finish at the rim.
