Continue ReadingThe ’24 post-winter rankings are out, and this class, like the ’2023 prospects, is a super competitive group with big-time talent up and down the board. Many athletes had monster winters, and the top 10 is loaded with players whose ceiling is top 3-5. Let’s check out who cracked the list.
#1
Ines Goryanova Ines Goryanova 5'7" | PG Putnam Science | 2024 State NewE | Putnam Science| 5’8’’| PG
What is there not to like about Goryanova? She continues to be everything you want in your best player and catalyst for your team. She is a winning player who brings it and competes every possession. Goryanova has the highest IQ and best court vision of anyone in the class. Her decision-making is elite, and Goryanova can effortlessly control the game from start to finish. She has an answer for almost everything. Whether it be her lethal jump shot that she can pull from the parking lot, a tough finish at the rim, or anything in between, Goryanova can destroy you.

Ahnay Adams Ahnay Adams 5'6" | PG Tilton | 2024 State NewE | Tilton| 5’6’’| PG
One player can take over the #1 spot by the June update, and that individual is Ahnay Adams Ahnay Adams 5'6" | PG Tilton | 2024 State NewE . The New Hampshire Gatorade Player of the Year had an excellent winter for Tilton, leading them to the #2 seed in the NEPSAC AA and a championship game berth. Adams couldn’t be kept away from the rim, and her strength and finishing ability made up for the lack of height. I was impressed mainly by her playmaking ability, and she did a good job maximizing the talent around her. Even when Adams wasn’t the top scorer in the game, she still could be the most impactful player on the court due to her tempo control, leadership, and facilitation.
#3
Ashley Dinges Ashley Dinges 6'1" | SF Noble & Greenough | 2025 State NewE | Central Catholic| 6’1’’| SF
Dinges was a force all winter long and consistently registered double-doubles. Some of the stat lines were mind-blowing. In one of the games I attended, she had 32 points and 17 rebounds in three quarters! The three-point shooting and rebounding speak for themselves, and Dinges proved to be the best at her position in both of those categories; but, she does the little things well too. Her screen setting and cutting always stood out to me, and she is extremely dangerous in the open court when pushing the ball in transition.
#4
Orlagh Gormley Orlagh Gormley 5'6" | PG Dexter Southfield | 2024 State NewE | North Quincy| 5’6’’| PG
Gormley’s ridiculous season earned her a spot in the top 5. She put everyone on notice leading North Quincy to an undefeated regular season and a deep playoff run that was ended by MIAA powerhouse Norwood. From start to finish, Gormley was spectacular. Her speed and quickness translate to any level of high school basketball. Gormley’s ability to get to the second level at will is unique, and her finishing package is one of the best in the class. Gormley improved her outside shooting which made her more potent, and she is one of the best point guard defenders.
#5
Jessica Ross Jessica Ross 6'3" | PF Tabor | 2024 State NewE | Tabor| 6’3’’| PF
I don’t care how many points Ross scores, because her defense is what has her rounding out the top 5. I watch Ross defend, and she makes it impossible for guards and wings to enter the paint and get to the rim. Her pick-and-roll defense is superb. Ross hedges hard, cuts off driving lanes and angles, and has active hands while patrolling the middle. Ross was a significant piece to Tabor’s championship run and was the most impactful power forward in the ’24 class. She also showed her potential on offense by pouring in a couple of big scoring games, specifically during the Nickerson Classic, where she played her best basketball of the winter.
#6
Kelian Cedano Kelian Cedano 5'9" | SG Putnam Science | 2024 State NewE | Putnam Science| 5’9’’| SG
Cedano continued to show how explosive and versatile a scorer she is this winter, but she also became a dynamic halfcourt playmaker. I liked how she emphasized setting up her teammates and getting them involved, along with being one of the team’s top scorers. Cedano had multiple 20+ point games and was one of the most significant contributors to Bradford Christian Academy’s success this season, leading them to the 7th seed in the NEPSAC AA.
#7
Ava Woodman Ava Woodman 6'0" | SG Tilton | 2024 State NewE | Tilton| 6’0’’| SG/SF
Woodman proved that she is the most impactful two-way wing in the ’24 class. Her game isn’t loud, and she won’t produce the coolest highlight reel. However, Woodman can fly under the radar; but I don’t think Tilton gets to the Championship Game vs. Tabor without her versatility. Woodman’s length is bothersome, and she has lightning quick hands that deflect passes nonstop. She can defend four positions and put up points quickly on offense. Off of turnovers is where Woodman does a lot of scoring damage, but she can also shoot the lights out and spaced the floor beautifully for Tilton.
#8
Elizabeth Lavoie Elizabeth Lavoie 5'11" | SG Pinkerton Academy | 2024 State NewE | Pinkerton Academy| 5’11’’| SG
Lavoie’s stock rose this winter because of her development as an all-around player. Known more for her scoring, shot-creating, and shot-making ability, Lavoie showed she could also be an impactful rebounder and defender. She led the NHIAA D1 in points per game and helped lift Pinkerton Academy to the 2-seed. Her offensive repertoire is elite, and she can score at all levels and easily with either hand.
#9
Natalia Hall-Rosa Natalia Hall-Rosa 6'0" | SF Bridgewater-Raynham | 2024 State NewE | Bridgewater Raynham| 6’0’’| SF
Hall-Rosa used her size well this winter to be a scoring force inside to match her perimeter game. In Bridgewater-Raynham’s win against the MIAA D3 State Champion St. Mary’s Spartans, Hall-Rosa took over that game in the 2nd half and showed what she could do as the primary playmaker on offense. Down two starters all season long due to injury, Hall-Rosa’s efforts were strong enough to lead Bridgewater-Raynham to win the Southeast Conference and 9 seed tournament berth. Hall-Rosa should be in for a big spring because she can showcase her entire playmaking repertoire on the wing while also showing her versatility around the basket.
#10
Ke’iara Odume Ke’iara Odume 5'9" | CG Loomis Chaffee | 2024 State NewE | Loomis Chaffee| 5’9’’| CG
Odume ended the season with a NEPSAC Class A Championship and posted a monster double-double of 16 points and 17 rebounds. Odume’s athleticism and motor are some of the best in the class, and she uses both of them to impact winning. Her ability to dominate the glass at her position makes her stand out amongst her peers. Towards the end of the season, Odume showed everyone her potential, and if she can carry this momentum into the spring and summer, she can be a top 5 player.
