Over the weekend, there were plenty of standout performers that I still would like to discuss. Today, I’m going to talk about some kids I was a fan of watching. [player_tooltip player_id="302307" first="Elisabeth" last="Gadient"]-Minnesota Fury 2024 Premier There are kids I enjoy watching so much that I’ll follow what they do even if they aren’t from Wisconsin. Gadient is one of those kids because of how smooth she operates on the floor. As a 5-foot-10 lead guard, she can do everything. The guard projects well to the next level, and watching her put pressure on the ball is an experience. She’s rangy enough to knock balls loose when shorter guards even have the ball in the best place possible. I don’t know what she shot 3’s at in high school, but I assume they were good. She didn’t shoot well in the one game I saw her, but I have 100% confidence she’ll shoot it at the next level. [player_tooltip player_id="215972" first="Norah" last="Danielson"]-Minnesota Fury 2024 Premier When you watch a 6-foot lead guard, you take notice. Danielson didn’t play her best when I saw her. That said, I could tell she’s capable of doing a lot. She’s an athletic kid who finished well around the rim and did a solid job taking care of the ball. When I got to my hotel that night is look up Danielson’s film. I tell you, it’s incredible, and I can’t even say I’m surprised. The more I see her on film, the more I become enamored with what she can do at the next level. Much like Gadient, I’ll be following Danielson through her senior season. [player_tooltip player_id="209594" first="Katelyn" last="Odem"]-Chapman Basketball Academy 2023 Frings Everyone should enjoy Odem’s game as a viewer. If you were to tell that kid she had to jump through a wall to win a game, she’d probably spend a lot of time trying. You can tell she loves playing the game, and no coach will have to get her ready to play. She’s good to go 24/7. Odem may not score 20 points that often, but she does other things coaches love. She puts pressure on defenses by attacking the rim, defends 94-feet, dives on loose balls the second they hit the floor, takes charges, boxes out, and she’s a willing passer. I think every coach will adore watching her, and she just picked up her first Divison 2 offer. [player_tooltip player_id="338951" first="Natalie" last="Mueller"]-Chapman Basketball Academy 2023 Frings I don’t think I’ve seen Mueller play any faster than she wants to play. Even in a fast-paced, physical game, she took her time to break the press, survey the court in their half-court offense, and get her shot off. Mueller has excellent spatial awareness and doesn’t seem like anything catches her off guard. I would like to see her speed her game up slightly, sure. However, what she is doing is working for her. I’m also a big believer that she’ll always be an elite zone buster because of her elite shooting and ability to pass without turning the ball over. [player_tooltip player_id="209616" first="Norriah" last="Broomfield"]-Playground Club 2024 National The Milwaukee native is someone I hadn’t seen play before Saturday. She showed a lot of positive signs. As a 6-foot post player, she understands how to play. She gets in good positions and gets her hands on loose rebounds to earn her team extra possessions. There is a lot of room for her to grow. Broomfield has good touch around the rim, and her free throws when they go in look good, but she’s inconsistent there. With repetition, I think she’ll become a solid free-throw shooter, and with her playstyle, she could become a 20-point scorer in high school. [player_tooltip player_id="209599" first="Ava" last="Collier-White"]-Playground Club 2024 National I was going to see Collier-White play back in January, but I caught covid, so the first time I got to see her was on Saturday. The Prairie School guard did an outstanding job guarding girls half a foot taller than her standing at 5-foot-4. I believe there is room for what she does at the next level. I loved what she did with the ball in her hands to break the press. She’s also a pressure valve because her team trusts her with the ball. She’ll be a kid who next-level coaches will love watching.
