There’s a lot of players and a lot to cover, so let’s talk about some of the newest names on this list, this being the first of a multi-part series.
No. 73: Arianna Allonardo Arianna Allonardo CG Hanover Park | 2024 State NJ – SG, Hanover Park
Allonardo is quietly growing into her role as a shooting guard for Hanover Park, though she can feature as a small forward when you look at her defensive and rebounding prowess. She knocked down 0.5 three-pointers a game this season and made her living inside the arc and at the free throw line. More consistency from three will benefit her tremendously and will give her that added dimension to her game to be able to take the next step.
No. 74: Lauryn Case Lauryn Case SG Point Pleasant Beach | 2024 NJ – SG, Point Pleasant Beach
Case found great success beyond the arc for the Garnet Gulls, with 35 percent of her scoring coming from three. She is not a player to get to the foul line often, relying more on her midrange and perimeter game. Both parts of Case’s game have really developed, especially this season, which brings with it excitement for the future. Case fit the role player description this season, but should be able to become a star in due time.
No. 77: Janie M Henderson Janie M Henderson 5'5" | PF Hopatcong | 2024 NJ – PF, Hopatcong
What we were hoping to see out of Henderson this season was progress after limited playing time last season. She delivered just that, averaging 5.9 PPG up from 4.0 PPG in eight games played in the spring. Henderson played in 22 games this year for Hopatcong and featured in the middle quite often. She’s still finding herself on the floor, but she can finish well at the rim and is a good rim protector as well. There’s a lot to take from her raw talent that makes us believe she’s going to be a future double-double candidate.
No. 62: Kristina Turner Kristina Turner SG Burlington Township | 2024 State NJ – SG, Burlington Township
Turner is a player that we’re definitely high on already, though she sits low on our current rankings list. Right now, her in experience playing varsity currently holds her back, but this is a player who scored in double-figures this season, averaging 10.5 PPG. She was knocking down 1.5 three-pointers a game as well, which is the stat that stood out most to us. Turner has a natural shooter’s touch and plenty of range beyond the arc. The more she can keep up that consistency, the better her play will continue to get.
No. 66: Isabella Winn Isabella Winn 5'7" | SF Ridgewood | 2024 NJ – 5-7 SF, Ridgewood
Winn’s stats don’t necessarily jump out at you when it comes to a scoring or rebounding standpoint, but her defense 100% does. She averaged four steals a game as a sophomore and was dialed in along the perimeter. She quickly solidified herself as one of the best lockdown defenders in the Big North, which is no easy task. Her quick thinking and quick hands have led to a multitude of turnovers already and will continue to in the years to come.
