Day 1 of the Prep Girls Hoops Great Lakes Challenge in Grand Rapids saw several players catch the eye of the scouts in the building. Early next week we will have our all-tournament team in each age group, but for now, a look at some 16/17U players who stood out for their teams today!

She showed to be a strong physical presence who did a very solid job getting into position in the paint. She does a good job controlling the high paint and makes good decisions. She is a hard worker and uses her size well on the boards, able to rebound and defend.
<span style="font-family: ’arial black’, sans-serif;"><strong>Anna Lundquist, 2024, Hardwood Midwest 2023</strong></span>
Anna was a post player who did some good things when I saw her in the morning. She uses her size well to play her position well, is a strong back to the basket type of player who also possesses solid footwork around the basket. Can get into position and create chances.
<span style="font-family: ’arial black’, sans-serif;"><strong>Breayah Jefferson, 2024, Hype Athletics Red</strong></span>
A good on-ball defender from the guard spot who can also push the tempo and battle through contact as an aggressive guard She does a nice job anticipating well on defense and is able to get to the rim well and finish. She is a fiery, spunky guard who has a high motor and nose for the ball. Moves well without the ball.
<strong><span style="font-family: arial black, sans-serif;">Jadelynn Freeman, 2026, Michigan Goonies</span></strong>
A player who can stretch the floor well and has a good feel for the game, Good basketball IQ and with a high ceiling ahead other, I look for her game to continue to rise as she enters her freshman year in high school.
<span style="font-family: ’arial black’, sans-serif;"><strong>Katy Eidle, 2023, Wolverinas 2023</strong></span>
<span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">Was really impressed with her overall game, as the long athletic wing can produce in a. lot of ways for her team. She has great court awareness and a high basketball IQ. Handles the ball well, able to distribute and is active on the defensive side of the ball. Part of a Wolverinas team who has had a lot of success over the years. </span><i style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">(</i><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;"><i>feature</i></span><i style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;"> photo above)</i>
