There will be some excellent talent at all positions and all levels for college coaches to see. The talent includes top ranked players in the state to up and coming prospects. Let’s look at some examples of the talented players that will be at the event.
Shahd Ali-Bakkar (2023, 1829 Blue 2023, Plymouth Salem)
Ali-Bakkar has a very nice all around perimeter game. She’s an opportunistic scorer and can play high level defense on the ball.
Nour Beydoun Nour Beydoun 6'3" | C Crestwood | 2025 State MI (2025, HYPE Athletics 2025 Brian)
Beydoun has the chance to be an elite defender. She has good defensive footwork and does a really nice job sliding over to help on D and challenging each and every shot that’s near her.
Charlene Gleason (2024, Central Illinois Express 2023, Williamsville)
Gleason has some real upside to her game. She draws contact, plays through it, and gets to the line. Gleason is a gritty player that’s willing to do the litle things.
Julia Johnson Julia Johnson 5'7" | SG Fowlerville | 2023 State MI (2023, TC Elite 2023)
It’s exciting to see Johnson and her TC Elite squad on the PGH Circuit. She does a really nice job working off the ball. Johnson can turn defense into offense by pushing the ball off the dribble after forcing a turnover.
Jaylah Lampley Jaylah Lampley 6'2" | SF Lawrence Central | 2025 State IN (2025, Indiana Blaze 2024, Lawrence North)
Lampley is an elite prospect on a national scale. She’s an incredibly athletic wing that flaunts a high basketball IQ. Trust me, she’s as skilled as any player at any event in Michigan this weekend.
Mara Mitchell Mara Mitchell 5'6" | SG Jackson Northwest | 2024 State MI (2024, MSF Flight 2024, Jackson Northwest)
Mitchell has come so far as a player over the last year or so. She’s a team player that features underrated overall athleticism and straight line speed. Mitchell can play fast and under control at the same time.
Shamya Reid Shamya Reid 5'5" | PG Westfield Prep | 2023 State MI (2023, HYPE Athletics 2023 Doc, Westfield Prep)
Reid is an elite lead guard talent and D1 coaches may want to tune in to the livestream. She’s a slippery playmaker on both ends of the floor. Reid has top notch handles and body control.
Kendall Taylor (2023, 5Star 2023, Concord)
Taylor will draw a lot of attention at the Great Lakes Challenge. She’ll be an elite post player at the event. Taylor works off the block with her back to the basket and finishes nicely spinning into the lane.
Mia Zorski Mia Zorski 6'0" | C Clarkston | 2023 State MI (2023, PR1DE 2023, Clarkston)
I’ve always been a big fan of not just Zorski’s skill set, but her passion and love for the game as well. She’s a true team player and a post with good feet that can stretch the floor.
