Knoxville Knockout: 14U GameChangers

The second event in the Triumph Region of the Prep Girls Hoops circuit is in the books after a thrilling two-day get-together at Rocky Top Sports World for Knoxville Knockout.

The mountains of east Tennessee provided a scenic backdrop for the two days of travel hoops that took place. The event welcomed teams from not only the Volunteer State, but Ohio, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina and Kentucky.

When thinking about what the definition of a GameChanger is, it was in full effect among the 2026 teams that made an appearance at Knoxville Knockout. Here are our 14U GameChangers from this past weekend.

Journey Waller – 2027 – Putnam County Middle School – Lady Empact 2026 – Waller is a baller. In one of the early contests involving 2026 teams, Waller delivered one of Knoxville Knockout’s signature highlights. In the closing second of a Saturday morning contest with Panhandle Prospects 2026, she went from one end of the court to the other to deliver a walk-off game-winning layup. In that play, she not only displayed the fearless attitude that she brings to her team but also superb ball handling skills and quickness. She was part of a Putman County Recreation team that won a GRPA District 6 championship last year.

Anastasia Gillam Anastasia Gillam 5'3" | PG JL Mann | 2027 State SC – 2027 – Calhoun Falls Charter – Greenwood Storm 2026 – Gillam completed a 2021-22 season with the Blue Flashes that saw the team advance to the second round of the SCHSL 1A playoffs. Gillam plays with a tenacious attitude and uses her speed and quickness to her advantage. Listed at 5-foot-1, she has a 3-point shot as part of her offensive arsenal and has no issues absorbing contact and getting to the free throw line. She finished at least one old-fashioned 3-point play against Hoop-Phi Lady Ballerz 2026 – a game where she scored 18 points to a Greenwood Storm 2026 win.

Jade Kitchens – 2027 – T.J. Elder MS – Lady Empact 2026 – Jade has got it made. Kitchens is one of three from the Golden Hawks that are represented on this year’s Lady Empact 2026 team and she is sure to have an increased profile as she advances up the high school ranks. As proficient as she is as a 3-point shooter, she also has no issue with absorbing contact and getting to the free throw line. The team roster has Kitchens listed at 5-foot-6. In one of the final matchups of the weekend tournament, Kitchens led her team with an 11-point effort in what was a hard-fought matchup with Richmond Heat 2026.

Macy Spivey – 2026 – Rockcastle HS – Richmond Heat 2026 – Say it nicely, many a high school basketball program across the Commonwealth wishes it had Spivey. She is listed at 5-foot-10 which, among the 2026 class, gives her a height advantage on many assignments she draws. Spivey is also not afraid of contact which can place her at the free throw line. Richmond Heat 2026 closed out the weekend’s slate of games at Rocky Top Sports Center with a 39-35 victory over Lady Empact 2026 – Spivey scored 12 points in that game. In addition to basketball, Spivey has also found her athletic footing on the softball diamond throughout her career.

Jonna Moses – 2026 – Tellico Plains MS – Team Ambition 2026 – An old saying is that one only has one chance to make a good first impression. Team Ambition 2026 made one of the first good impressions of the weekend Circuit tournament with a 50-14 victory over Alabama Twisters Elite 2026 on Saturday. Moses displayed accuracy from behind the 3-point line and delivers a great deal of hustle and energy. If her game could be summed up in one word, that word could be poise. She is also not afraid to draw contact and find her way to the free throw line. Moses dropped 11 points – nine of which via the triple in the victory on Saturday morning.
