The freshman guard from DeLaSalle put up 35 points on Saturday morning as The City 2025 Black scored an impressive 64-62 win over FBC Real 2024 in their opening game at the Midwest Kickoff Classic in Bloomington. Aneisha (photo above) leads the way in our final installment of superlative performances from the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit partner event.
Aneisha Scott Aneisha Scott 5'6" | PG DeLaSalle | 2025 State MN – guard, The City 2025 Black
Scott is quick, she’s crafty and she is positively overflowing with confidence. At least that’s how she makes it look on the floor, both for the Islanders during the high school season and for The City come AAU time. 35 is a rare number to reach in an AAU game but Scott offers up a solid list of skills, one of which is the ability to get to the basket in spite of her size. That certainly paid off on Saturday a.m. as Aneisha made 16 free throws in the victory. In addition she is a terrific floor general with a high basketball IQ and nice court vision. She can also shoot the three, possesses a nice floater, and defends the perimeter with passion and energy. Scott is ranked #29 in the Class of 2025.
Addison Mack Addison Mack 5'9" | PG Minnehaha Academy | 2025 State MN – guard, Minnesota Fury 2025 Blue
Speaking of elite point guards, there are few better anywhere than Addi. We saw it throughout the high school season, the third year in a row in which she dazzled us with her offensive abilities. She led Minnehaha Academy back to the state tournament, averaging 23 points per game and directing the Redhawks offense with poise and precision. This summer she joined the Fury’s top freshmen and wasted no time at all making her presence felt. Addi was everywhere this weekend. She is always aggressive but I’m not sure we have ever seen her attack the rim as well as she did at the Kickoff. Mack, Jordan Ode Jordan Ode 5'11" | CG Maple Grove | 2025 State MN and friends combined beautifully for Coach Tim Ellefson’s squad as the Fury scored three dominant wins. She’s ranked #5 in the Class of 2025.
Nicole Maenke Nicole Maenke 5'10" | CG Shakopee | 2024 State MN – guard, Crossfire 2024 Schuck
Coming off a terrific high school season in which she was a key piece in Shakopee’s run to the Class 4A state tournament, Maenke is playing with a vast amount of confidence and it shows. This spring she has moved over from the loaded Minnesota Suns Blue Star team to the Crossfire squad directed by longtime Northwestern-St. Paul college coach Linda Schuck. At Crossfire it is Nicole’s show to run and run it she did over the weekend, averaging 14 points per game. She is a highly-intelligent floor leader who plays the game with just the right amount of swagger. She is fearless and puts out as much passion and energy as anyone. The 5’9 sophomore has length, speed and skill and the type of personality that makes her a natural team leader. Maenke is ranked #33 in the Class of 2024.
Angel Hill Angel Hill 5'8" | PG Minnehaha Academy | 2024 State MN – guard, Minnesota Stars 2024 Bjorgaard
We were looking forward to watching the Minnesota Stars re-tooled 2024 squad this weekend, now coached by Chris Bjorgaard of Orono. There are a few strong holdovers, including point guard Ashton Safranski of Fargo, standout shooting guard Sidney Klauer Sidney Klauer 5'7" | CG East Ridge | 2024 State MN of East Ridge, and forward Lauren Machacek Lauren Machacek 5'10" | SF Eastview | 2024 MN of Eastview. The newcomers include Macy Birkholz Macy Birkholz 5'5" | CG Mankato East | 2024 State MN of Mankato East and Cece McNair Cece McNair 6'2" | PF Prior Lake | 2024 State MN of Prior Lake. One player who really stood out this weekend, though, was Angel Hill Angel Hill 5'8" | PG Minnehaha Academy | 2024 State MN of Minnehaha Academy. It has been interesting watching Hill’s game evolve over the past year. She has become so much more versatile, shoots the ball from deep, plays well within the team concept and uses her athleticism and skill with intelligence and guile. She still gets to the rim but now utilizes many more options to make things happen. Hill’s productivity at Minnehaha nearly doubled in the last month of the season and she was a crucial piece of the team’s run to the state tournament. At the Midwest Kickoff we saw more of the same which bodes well for the weeks ahead.
Morgan Miller Morgan Miller 6'2" | PF Andover | 2024 State MN – forward, Minnesota Fury 2024 UAA
The evolution of Morgan’s game continues. This winter at Andover, where Miller is one of four high-end prospects in the Class of 2024, she was the Huskies top scorer and a rebounding demon and showed flashes of top-shelf potential throughout the season. This weekend she was back in the lineup for the loaded Fury 2024 UAA group and the progress she has made was even more evident. The 6’2 forward has length and skill and can now play an up-tempo game any way you want to. She’s so fluid, with the ability to act in continuous motion from catch, to step or spin, to the finish. It’s pretty to watch. Miller was especially good this weekend when 2024 #1 Olivia Olson Olivia Olson 6'1" | CG Benilde-SM | 2024 State MN was sidelined by injury early in game 2. Defensively Morgan is a weapon who can pull down boards and block shots with the best of them. Miller has risen all the way up to #16 in the Prep Girls Hoops Class of 2024 rankings and is a strong Division 1 prospect.
