Pissott was the senior forward the lone representative from New Jersey selected for the McDonald’s All-American Game, and on Saturday afternoon, received another honor.
As reported from the official Red Bank Catholic girls basketball Twitter account, she received an invite from Team USA to participate in the U18 Team Trials in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
We’ve seen other players in the state, like Zoe Brooks Zoe Brooks 5'8" | CG St. John Vianney | 2023 State NJ , get invited to try out for the national team at the headquarters of Team USA in Colorado Springs and Pissott is the next player to get added on to that list.
The current Team USA U18 roster includes AP First Team All-Americans Naz Hillmon of Michigan and NaLyssa Smith of Baylor, both of which just finished up their senior seasons.
Those are some massive shoes to fill and for a player like Pissott to receive an invitation to tryouts is a big honor.
Pissott, a 6-2 shooting guard/small forward, averaged 13.9 points per game over 76 high school games, recording a career-high 17.4 points a game as a senior. She knocked down 182 three-pointers over her career or just below 2.4 threes a game.
While we’ll be seeing Pissott play at Tennessee next season, her journey to playing on Team USA begins very soon.
She’s fully recovered from a finger injury that caused her to miss 10 games in the middle of her senior season and is ready to ball out.
Her size and abilities rival and player in the state and in the country, so expect Pissott to make some moves once she gets out to Colorado Springs for team trials.
Congrats Justine from everyone at PGH NJ on the invitation and we’ll definitely be following updates to see what happens out in Colorado.
