The following athletes below are a part of Essence Girls Basketball. These are the players that will be looking to get on college coaches’ radars this spring and summer. All these players will be playing at Capitol Cool in Birmingham, AL during May Live Period.
Armani Cooke I 5’8 I SG I 2023 I Bulloch Academy I Essence White 2023 Jennings
Cooke is a hidden gem that played for a state title this past high school season. Has the ability to play both the point and shooting guard position. A player that sees the floor well in transition and knows how to get to the basket. Never stops playing and brings the energy for her team. Cooke is a floor general that controls the game on both ends of the floor. Knows how to defend without fouling and creates turnovers. Looking forward to seeing how she plays during the next live period. College Prospect.
Kaci Demps I 5’3 I PG I 2025 I Lowndes I Essence Black 2025 Ashley
Demps has proved time and time again that she has the ability to play both ends of the floor. A high IQ point guard that uses her speed as a weapon. A player that knows how to move her feet on defense and create havoc for her opponents. Knows how to control the game and see the floor on offense. Plays bigger than her 5’3 frame as she rebounds good for her size. A guard that can attack the basket and score at the rim. Looking for her to have a breakout spring and summer.
Otaifo Estenablu I 6’2 I PF I 2023 I Lowndes I Essence Black 2023 Stewart
Estenablu is a player that is hitting the exposure scene for the first time. A college ready skill set. Has the ability to control the paint on offense and defense. A walking double double as she knows how to high point every rebound. Her length makes it hard for anyone to score over her. Signature post moves on the block create easy scoring opportunities. Always runs the floor hard and looking to pin her defender for an easy basket around the rim. Has a nice high post jump shot.
Jai’da Grayson I 5’9 I Wing I 2023 I Hilton Head Christian I Essence Black 2023 Stewart
Grayson game resembles that of a Draymond Green. A player does all the little things that may not show up on the stat sheet. One of the things that stands out is her ability to communicate. Always talking and making sure her teammates are in the right spot. A player that plays hard on both ends of the floor. Has the ability to play inside/out which creates matchup problems for her opponents. Knows how to score through contact around the rim and has a nice baseline jump shot.
Destiny Grider Destiny Grider 5'6" | C Liberty County Highschool | 2023 GA I 5’7 I SG I 2023 I Liberty County I Essence White 2023 Jennings
Grider has put in a lot of work in the offseason. From early morning workouts to evening workouts. A player that has transformed her game to where she has the ability to score on all 3 levels. Knows how to use her body to absorb the contact and score at the rim. Nice pull up shot which catches her opponents off balance but also has the ability to shoot the 3 ball when left open. Moves well without the ball which allows her to get out in the passing lanes and create turnovers.
Emari Brown I 5’9 I SF I 2026 I Richmond Hill I Essence Black 2026 Lang
Brown is new to the exposure scene as well. A player that continues to get better every practice and game. Her length and speed are her best attributes. One thing that stands out is her ability to run down opponents for the block. A player that never gives on the play and plays with a ton of energy. Knows how to rebound with the best of them and get out to pressure on the wings. Young talent that will be on a ton of coaches’ radars this spring and summer.
Alindria Dudley I 5’5 I PG I 2023 I Glynn Academy I Essence White 2023 Jennings
Dudley is a player that can take over the game on the defensive end. She lets her defense fuel her offense. One of the hardest working players I have seen on the defensive end in a long time. Uses her quickness to her advantage as she is able to apply full court and half court pressure. A player that always defends the best player on the court. Has the ability to get to the basket and finish through contact. A blue-collar worker on both ends of the floor that draws attention from coaches because of her ability to play defense.
