Cindy Foka-5’8 PF CTX Lady Knights 2024
Foka has dealt with injuries over the past season yet, to be honest, had her dad has not told me, I would have never known because she is simply a #THROWBACK in so many ways starting with she’s undersized in a sense but can rebound against players around or over “the magic number” which is 6’0. She scores off the dribble after contact, her putbacks are powerful and so is her pressure defensively yet she also can elevate and block shots
Hannah Friday-5’8 SG (La Verina HS) SA Unite [2024]
Friday is today yet watching her “catch and shoot” I was impressed seeing the ball DRAG through the NET but while you’re trying to figure that out, that may be as hard as figuring out how to guard her because she plays within herself but she also does a good job creating her shot and not only can she get it off quickly, she drops it from deep. That in itself tells me she has good upside so I can’t wait to catch her periodically
Sidney Smith-5’7 SF (Smithson Valley HS) SA Infinity Green
Smith also showed she could rebound against taller players, she gets off the ground yet she also understands positioning which also falls under #THROWBACK but she did a good job of scoring around the basket, against taller players and just for fun, she dropped the long ball. The solid defense also adds to what she brings to the table, nice upside
Laura Sierra-5’11 PF/C San Antonio Islanders [2025]
Sierra left me speechless when she came out of nowhere to block a shot, I’ll attach it to the tweet but she has a good frame and does things instinctively, read the opening sentence yet her hands and footwork as well as finishing after contact are pretty good as well yet her upside is what I really like and observing the little things she does right now has her in the mix for big things down the road
Giana Monda-5’7 SF/SG (Stevens HS) Player First [2025]
Monda has always been a fighter, she dives for loose balls on the floor, well in the stands as well as she knocked my camera out of my hand a few years ago but that picture is priceless but picture this, watching er SNAG an offensive rebound and finish on the reverse “JUST DID IT” for me. On the ball defense has gotten better, and so is her creating off the dribble from outside and she dropped some jumpers
Honorable Mention
