Adidas 3SSB: West Coast Players in South Carolina

Prep Girls Hoops took in the action this past weekend in Spartanburg, SC at the Adidas 3SSB Live Period. The NCAA Live Period event was being held at the Upward Star Center in Upstate South Carolina. Who were some of the players and teams that made the trip across the country from the western part of the United States? Read more right here in this article. NWBA 17U 3SSB finished the weekend at (3-1). The Sandy, UT based squad consist of players from Utah, Nevada and Idaho. Whiting is a University of Oregon commit. Amari goes into her senior season with 1,910 career points. Matavao currently has offers from Utah Valley, Hawaii, Cal State Fullerton and Niagara. Carpenter isn’t flashy at all with her play but just steady. Kate does a good job of timing shots and has no problems swatting a few away. Kiley plays with Texas Elite Lady Jets 17U despite living in Arizona. Kiley keeps the ball up high after rebounding it and has no problems playing the game on contact. She averaged 19.8 ppg, 14.8 rebounds and 3.9 blocks this past season. Medina averaged 38.6 ppg this past season in high school and scored 1,118 points while connecting on 84 three pointers. Jocelyn has scored 2,090 points in her high school career. She plays a bit off grid 48 miles northwest of Sacramento up Interstate-5. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="115413" first="Malia" last="Samuels"] (2023) Garfield HS (Seattle, WA)</strong> is one crafty point guard. Samuels a 1st Team All-State Selection helped the Northwest Greyhounds 3SSB 17U squad to a (3-1) record last weekend in Spartanburg, SC. Samuels was able to drop some floaters in the lane and fight off defenders at times on the way to the basket. Brown is a really athletic wing that can defend all over the floor. Eleionna has good length and a very competitive edge to her game. Cain just a freshman really HUSTLES all over the floor and never takes a play off. Nina has good energy at all times and while staying active away from the ball. WOW!!! Edwards is very confident for her age and already has great size down in the paint. She looks to block everything in site with her long wingspan and great footwork for her age. Oliviyah will be a name for sure to be mentioning in this class in the years to come.
