2023 5’7 Village School, TX (TNBA Houston 2023)
Elizabeth was one of the best prospects in attendance at the PrepGirls Hoops Dynasty Classic. She played with some of the highest energy in the entire gym and got into the teeth of the defense with ease. I was blown away with the separation she created with a live dribble and the ease in which she finished at the rim. She finished through excessive contact, and even used some finesse to go up and under. She routinely knocked down shots at the free throw line and made the defense pay for when they fouled her. Her finishing is no where near the best part of her game however, she truly does a little bit of everything on both ends of the court. On the defensive end, her head is always moving around to map out where all of her opponents are on the court. She played the passing lanes at a very high level and baited her opponent into some lazy passes and easy turnovers. I also loved watching her fight on the glass, for her position she was one of the best rebounders in attendance at the guard spot. She is not afraid to do the dirty work on the court, and made her opponents work for every chance down low. She is not afraid to slide over and be a help defender, and has long arms that harass the ball handler on the perimeter as well as in the paint. Walton is a prospect that you CANNOT miss college coaches!
Rebecca Kelley 2023 5’8 Homeschool, TX ( Hoop Lovers 2023)
Rebecca is a patient player who sees the floor well and always seems to make the right reads and extra passes to set up her teammates well within the half court. I was very impressed by her ability to play alongside another player who wanted to live in the paint, and the willingness she had to play outside in when on the court at the same time as her. She can operate with a live dribble or out of the triple threat on the elbows and make the right pass. She has a great two man game with her other big man, Kelley is good at waiting for her to seal off her opponent before passing the ball into the post and allowing her to work.I was very impressed with the ease in which she scored from the mid-range off the bounce. She is calm with a live dribble and always seems to make the right basketball play every time down the court.
Alyssa Potter 2023 5’6 Coppell High School, TX (Texas Platinum 2023 Bates)
Alyssa is a silky smooth shooter who can punish the defense from all three levels of the floor. I was blown away by the ease in which she scored from the perimeter and I was not surprised to see why she wore the number 30 after watching her play for a few minutes! She has a very refined jumper off the bounce that has a high release point, which allows her to shoot over the top of the defense and punish them from beyond the arc as well as in the midrange. She constantly attacked the defense to either get into the paint or stop on a dime and rise up over them for an easy jumper. I was very impressed with her overall court vision as well, she made good reads to set up her teammates in the full court and the half court. I would like to see her work on adding a floater so she can score a bit easier in the paint.
Leandria Holmes 2023 5’10 Klein Forest High School, TX ( Hoop Lovers 2023)
Leandria is a high level guard who plays on both ends of the court and lived on the fast break after picking passes in the passing lane or rebounding the ball. She is aware on the break and made the right reads and constantly created for her teammates and found them with crisp passes that hit them in stride. In the half court, she constantly found her teammates and created shot opportunities for them. She displayed an ability to knock down shots off the dribble from beyond the arc. She constantly hit shots and was always a threat to score from the outside. Her size allows her to manipulate the defense and force them to sink back to take away shot opportunities down low. The ease in which she finished at the rim gives herself even more space on the perimeter.
Ashlynn Galvin 2023 5’6 Jim Ned High School, TX (Texas Platinum 2023 Bates)
Ashlynn is a sharp shooter who does a bit of everything on the court to help her team win. She is a high energy player who is always ready to punish the defense on the catch from the wings and the corners. Her ability to play on the perimeter allows the rest of her team more space to roam and attack the defense. I was very impressed with the ease in which she scored from the outside, and how quick she got shot opportunities up over her defender. I loved the hustle and energy she displayed on both ends of the court, she was not afraid to be moving from sideline to sideline to defend her opponent as well as going after long rebounds. I would like to see her work on her overall confidence with the ball and get into the teeth of the defense with a live dribble.
