While Scott Hankamp was in the house focusing on his familiar Michigan teams, I spent most of my time watching the teams not from that area, so the majority of my all-tournament teams are consisting of the kids from out side of Michigan Not to say I didn’t add a couple!
Jim’s Great Lakes Challenge 16/17U All-Tournament 1st-Team
Lola Lampley, 2026, Indiana Blaze 2024
Incredible player going into her freshman season, as she is a 2026. Plays great defense and can pressure you everywhere on the court. Plays so much older than she is, such a big basketball IQ. Runs the floor very well, can finish at the rim with both hands. Anticipates so well for her age, a player you can’t take off the floor. (pictured left)
Jaylah Lampley, 2025, Indiana Blaze 2024
Handles the ball very well for her size, carbon copy of her younger sister. Great defensive pressure on the ball with her incredible length and wingspan. Incredibly athletic, off the chart. Can shoot well from the perimeter consistently. Great footwork and she knows what to do with the ball. Can get though the defense.
Mia Carson, 2023, Michigan Goonies 2023
This was a guard that I liked because she was so versatile and able to help her team in a variety of ways, She moves the ball well and is a very athletic player. Solid on-ball defender who reacts well and has quick hands able to disrupt the game. In transition she turns mistakes into points and does a good job talking on the floor
Hailey Freshcorn, 2024, MSF Flight
Very talented guard on a team that plays well together. She excels in the transition game and is able to beat you in a variety of ways. Can get to the rim with good quickness and can finish with either hand. She has a very good basketball IQ and plays with a lot of energy.
Emily Fisher, 2023, Wolverinas 2023
This young lady has all the tools, as she heads to the Big Ten after graduation. Love her intensity and fiery demeanor. She is such a smooth player with excellent handles. Able to finish at the rim and plays under control. Very active in the offense and pursues the ball well on defense, Can pressure you and force turnovers which leads to points. (pictured left)
