PGH Midwest Melee Day 1 14U Top Performers

Teams consisting of players from Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa, Arkansas, and Kansas gathered for a two day Prep Girls Hoops Legacy Circuit stop at Hy-Vee Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. As each day progressed players were identified as top performers for their teams in games. I joined other scouts to cover day 1. Below is a list of the opening day’s 15U top performers with some brief notes. All are 2026s unless otherwise noted. [caption id="attachment_431160" align="alignleft" width="146"] KC Royalty 2026 Kylie Bachall. Photo: Robert Kelly, Prep Girls Hoops.[/caption] Kylie Bachall, 4’10", CG, KC Royalty 2026 - Shifty ball handler who is also a legitimate three perimeter threat. Even when shut down from scoring she creates for other teammates. Loved a shot block she earned when she got posted up on inside. Lily Bellebarker, SG, Team Iowa 2026 Red - Bellebarker is a perimeter shooter with a quick release. She uses solid ball fakes to set up drives and pull-up jumpers. Did well finishing with contact. Dacyn Blanding, 5’2", PG, Olathe Northwest (KS), Kansas Elite Red 2026 - I really liked her ability to create her own shot. Her ability was highlighted by a 2-dribble move to take a now-clear free-throw area shot. [caption id="attachment_431110" align="alignleft" width="145"] Olathe Northwest 2026 Dacyn Blanding. Photo: Robert Kelly, Prep Girls Hoops.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_431145" align="alignright" width="145"] Team Iowa 2026 Alaina Canney. Photo: Robert Kelly, Prep Girls Hoops.[/caption] Alaina Canney, 5’11", C, Team Iowa 2026 Red - Canney was arguably the best big on the floor today. She worked hard to post up inside and used her size effectively to score. She had to be sore come the end of the day because she was constantly banged by defenders trying to stop the post-up and hit trying to score. Late, what also caused her to stand out, was Canney showing the abiility to swiftly transition with the ball and push it ball down the floor with an accurate pass. Canney has very good hands as well. Alex Dean, 5’6", G, Center (MO), SHOtime 2026 - While Dean can put up points what caught my eye was her close out ability and her defensive quickness. Enslie Dryer, 5’7", CG, Liberty (MO), Kansas Elite White 2026 - In addition to playing the point on full court pressure Dryer also would defend the biggest post on the opposing team. Even giving up a lot of height and mass Dryer worked hard to deny over the top, use her lower body to gain position, and otherwise scrap and fight with physicality. Dirty and impressive work. Rylie Edwards, 5’7", CG, Blue Valley Northwest (KS), Kansas Elite White 2026 - Edwards has good court awareness and handles. She made a pair of really nice steals including one where she was hustling chasing a run out and picked off the down-the-floor pass in the back court. Edwards also showed the ability to drive baseline and dish inside from under the basket to gather an assist. [caption id="attachment_431119" align="alignleft" width="145"] SHOtime and 2026 Alex Dean. Photo: Robert Kelly, Prep Girls Hoops.[/caption] London Gilley, CG, Team Blackheart Basketball - Shooter alert, Gilley can put points on the board and is a consistent three point threat. Braylee Littig, 5’6", G, Winchester, Illinois Inferno 2026 - When a former and a current college player, who just so happen to be running the game table, tell you to note a player who has good feet you listen. Pretty high complement I think. Jacie Meece, 5’4", PG, Team Blackheart Basketball, 2027- Meece will be an interesting player to watch develop. She plays hard on both ends, hustles consistently, and can finish with athleticism. An impact player for her team because she always seemed to be in the middle of plays on both ends of the floor. [caption id="attachment_431124" align="alignleft" width="145"] Team Blackheart Basketball 2027 Jacie Meece. Photo: Robert Kelly, Prep Girls Hoops.[/caption] Hudsyn Ranshau, 5’7", CG, Sioux City East (IA), Arena National 2026 - Among the best ball handlers on the day was Ranshau. Even double teamed such as in trapping situations she handled pressure well, head up looking for teammates down the floor. She also showed herself to be a good mid-range shooting threat. Janaiya Rogers, 5’3", PG, Broken Arrow, Id3ntity Elite 2026 Pitts - A point guard with quicks and handles she loves the quick whirl off the drive to create a shot. She also has finishing ability at speed. Perimeter ability is something to watch as she did not bat an eye at the parking lot range shot. Thasanee Wilmeth, PG, Trinity Academy (KS), Next Level Eclipse Orange 2026 - Wilmeth showed handles with speed and the ability to push the ball well. I also liked her hustle on both ends of the floor. [caption id="attachment_431132" align="alignleft" width="145"] Trinity Academy 2026 Thasanee Wilmeth.
