Riley Grohmann 2024 5’11 Jim Ned High School, TX (Texas Platinum 2024 Bruce)
Riley was at it again with more special performances at the Dynasty Classic. She is showing a dominant overall feel for the game in the full court and the half court. This prospect is one you cannot miss. She is an incredibly dynamic play-maker and scorer for herself when she needs to be. She showed an ability to push the tempo and go coast to coast after snatching a rebound, but her true prowess lies in her ability to read the defense in the half court. She is calm with the basketball and LOVES getting her teammates involved. She always made the extra pass to set up a teammate for a better look, even in the paint making dump off passes to her bigs to easily finish rather than her attempting to put up a shot over the defense. She is not just a passer however, she calmly turned the corner on her opposition and exploded out of the triple threat to keep the defense off balance.
On defense, she is aware and reads her opposition very well to come up with quick steals by poking the ball free, or jumping the passing lanes. Her ability to create turnovers and havoc was very impressive and gave her and her team easy opportunities to finish on the fast break. She showed an ability to go coast to coast, but also made the right outlet passes to find streaking teammates and even tough bounce passes when she had a two on one. I was incredibly impressed with her basketball IQ, she truly did it all on both ends of the floor.
Taylor Spencer 2024 5’7 Cleveland High School, TX (Houston Lady Nets 2024)
Taylor is a skilled combo guard who is able to play off the ball, while also affecting the game on the defensive end of the court. She is great on the defensive side of the ball, where she takes pride in picking apart her opponents with her intense on ball defense. Her aggressiveness on that end of the floor allowed her to come up with takeaways and run on the fast break. In the full court, she is good at getting to the rim and using her end to end speed to beat her opponents to the rim. She really stood out through her ability to read and steal passes in the passing lane and finishing in the paint on the other end. She is a patient player within the half court who displayed an ability to fire out cross court passes that caught the defense by surprise and allowed her teammate a good look to shoot. She is becoming more and more aggressive at getting into the paint every time I see her, and I cannot wait to see what aspect of her game she begins to master next.
Fia Filoialii 2024 5’11 James E. Taylor High School, TX (Texas Cagers Select 2024)
Fia was dominant again at the Dynasty Classic, showing off her calm nature to the game and the ease in which she finished in the lane really stood out. She is a dynamic point forward with some real size who reads the game and sees the floor like a point guard, yet finishes in the paint like a forward. She is good out of the triple threat, but truly thrives in the full court when she is able to get a full head of steam and get into the paint. She has the ability to snatch a rebound off the glass and go coast to coast and make the right lead pass to a streaking teammate or a dump off pass after she has drawn the last defender. I was very impressed with her handle in the full court, she dominated her defenders in the open court and finished at the rim at will.
She is able to play outside-in, and dance around her defender to get into the paint or play inside-out and work from the mid post or on the block. I was very impressed with her natural forward like control in the post, and her ability to move without the basketball. She flashed to the high post or the paint for easy looks and always seemed to be in the right spot for a dump off pass for a teammate who was in trouble. Her ability to truly do it all allows her to play alongside another big due to her ability to find space seemingly anywhere on the floor. I was very impressed with her poise and maturity with the basketball and her ability to make something out of nothing.
Mia Alarcon 2024 5’1 Morton Ranch High School, TX (Texas Cagers Select 2024)
Mia is an aggressive guard who specializes in her ability to defend on the ball and bump her opponents off their spots. She is great at getting underneath her opponent and moving with them through crossovers. She has a real knack of poking the ball free, she has active hands that came up with multiple steals during the first day of competition. She is great at turning defense into offense and using her end to end speed with the ball at beating the defense up the court to finish in the paint. I would like to see more consistency with her shot off the dribble, she displayed an ability to catch and shoot from the outside however so it should not be long before she becomes a complete two-three level scorer with her tenacity on both ends of the floor and how she reads the game.

2024 5’7 Kinkaid High School, TX (TNBA Houston 2024)
Lyllian is an aware point guard who sees the floor at an incredibly high level, and displayed some very impressive passes from all around the court to set up her teammates. She calmly made the right reads within the full court and the half court, I saw her slip a slick bounce pass through traffic on the fast break that hit her teammate right in stride. She has a great feel for the game and is calm with the ball in her hands. Within the half court, she made crisp passes that were in her teammates shooting pockets, allowing them to quickly get a shot up and punish the defense for relaxed coverage. I would like to see her become more aggressive in getting into the paint with a live dribble.
