They make the extra pass, they box out and rebound, and they do all the little things that keep the team together. These girls know their roles on the team and executed it flawlessly. Think of these types of players as someone that could be the star on another team. As a coach we love what impact players bring to the game of basketball. These five made a huge impact on their teams this past weekend.
Jordyn Cooke – The City Black 2025
Cooke really came alive in the second half of the championship game but what stayed consistent throughout the game was her rebounding. She may be one of better rebounders I’ve seen in the 2025 class. She uses her body and strength to get good position and secure the ball. When the game came down to the end, Cooke made sure she cleaned up every offensive rebound and used her will to put it back up, with some of them resulting in an and-1. The 5’11 forward has been on the sideline for some time with an injury but look out for her this summer as her stock continues to rise.
Brooklyn Love Brooklyn Love 6'1" | PF Waterloo West | 2024 State IA – Wisconsin Shooters Gold 2025
The point guard for the Wisconsin Shooters has a great upside and is athletic in every way. She usually has the ball in her hands on offense and controls the pace of the game. I would label her as smooth, and as she continues to grow and mature on the court, she will be a very good player. On offense she can do it all. She has great handles, a quick first step and a high IQ that helps her get to the basket. One of her most underrated abilities is to create contact and get to the line. She uses her speed to play great defense and has all the techniques to be a great defender.
Addison Dolan Addison Dolan 5'8" | SF Eastview | 2025 State MN – The City Black 2025
Dolan is what you call a knock-down shooter. When she is open and in rhythm you can almost guarantee she will knock it down. In almost every game she scored at least two threes. The combo guard has nice size and uses her strength to take her defender one-on-one to the hoop. This weekend she was locked in, she plays like she is not about to let her team lose.. ever! The most unrated aspect of her game is her communication. Five seconds after the tip I heard her talking to her team on both ends of the floor. She is definitely a leader for The City.
Sarah Olson – Minnesota Diamond Elite 2025
The 5’6 guard showed off her speed and athleticism this weekend. She may be one of the fastest 2025 kids I’ve seen. She can grab a rebound and get down the court in three seconds. Once she adds a few moves to her speed she will be unstoppable. Diamond Elite looks at her to be a scoring threat so she takes a lot of shots because opponents can’t keep up with her. Once she starts to finish at the rim consistently, she will be averaging double figure points.
Macy Reno – Quad City Shockers 2025
Reno had a big game on Sunday during the consolation final. She was on fire from the three-point line in the first half knocking down 4 threes and two free-throws giving her 14 points in the half. We were very impresses! At 5’7 the combo guard had a little height advantage over some of her defenders and was able to shoot over them. Reno not only is lethal on the offensive end, but she was also very aggressive on defense, causing many turnovers for the opposing team.
Megan Thorfinnson – West Central United 2025
Thorfinnson is another impact player who can shoot the rock from beyond the arc. With the plethora of talent on her team, she is able to be a spot up shooter for West Central United. In the third-place game she knocked down 4 threes and finished with 16 points. At 5’8 with a long frame she can shoot over her defender on offense and block shots down low on defense.
