Jorey Buwalda Jorey Buwalda 6'0" | PF Randolph | 2023 State WI
The Randolph forward dominated the Division 5 ranks in Wisconsin, leading her Rockets team to a 31-0 record and state title. She played for Wisconsin Elite and showed many of the same qualities that make her so dominant at Randolph. However, I never knew how good of a spot-up shooter Buwalda was. Every time she spotted up from beyond the 3-point line and shot, the ball had a great rotation, and she had the results to back it up. Her ability to score inside and out was impressive.
Ayianna Johnson Ayianna Johnson 6'3" | C Jefferson | 2023 State WI
Johnson had a few games in high school this season where she dominated. After seeing her play in person, it’s easy to see why that happened. She moves well for a 6-foot-3 forward and has multiple moves she’s comfortable going to with her back to the basket. I loved how confident she was in herself to make moves in the post.
Lexi Bugajski Lexi Bugajski 6'0" | PF New Berlin Eisenhower | 2023 State WI
As far as versatile 4s go in Wisconsin, Bugajski is likely the most versatile. She has the skill to run transition offense and halfcourt offense. All spring, I’ve seen the variety of scoring she brings, from 3s to turnaround jumpers in the post. Bugajski creates mismatches with her ability to beat posts off the dribble and shoot over guards.
Annika Pluemer Annika Pluemer 5'9" | CG Brookfield East | 2023 State WI
Ever since I got to see the Brookfield East guard play against Arrowhead, I knew she had a constant drive to win. She doesn’t care about the aesthetics of the game. She is ok with getting her shot blocked as long as she’s helping her team create the best chance to win. She’s a solid defensive presence and stays in front of her assignment. Pluemer also understands how important communication on the defensive end is, and you can hear her direct traffic.
Adrienne Kirch Adrienne Kirch 5'8" | CG McFarland | 2023 State WI
The McFarland guard is an accomplished shooter at the high school level. She is confident in her ability to shoot and puts in the work to have the right to be confident in herself. Kirch doesn’t need much space to get her shot off, and that’s valuable for a team to have on offense. Any school that ends up with her will be happy with themselves.
Kayleigh Flach Kayleigh Flach 5'9" | SG Oconomowoc | 2023 WI
Whenever I get a chance to see the Oconomowoc Racoon, I love how well she handles the ball. I rarely see anyone fluster her or force her into any mistakes. Flach has looked good all spring, and after seeing her this weekend, I can safely say she’s played well this summer. She’s an under-the-radar kid with a ton of ability.
