Team Griffin Elite 2023 Wernli outlasted a very strong Team Trae Young 2023 to repeat as Dynasty Circuit champions. First, second, and third teams as well as a honorable mention list will be released to shine light on the play of so many players. Enjoy a look at the first team all-tournament players.
Alyssa Nielsen Alyssa Nielsen 6'0" | PF Bixby | 2023 State OK , 6’0″, PF/SF, Bixby (OK), Team Griffin Elite 2023 Wernli, 2023 – Nielsen played with strength, physicality, speed, and hustle the entire weekend. She also is a serious perimeter shooting threat. Nielsen is a high potential stretch four at the next level. I really enjoyed watching her beat most opponents down the floor in transition and finishing on the fly after the catch.
Meredith Mayes Meredith Mayes 6'3" | C Bixby | 2023 State OK , 6’2″, C, Bixby (OK), Team Griffin Elite 2023 Wernli, 2023 – Mayes had a terrific event, showing she was arguably the best all-around big of the event. Especially out of back-to-basket Mayes is a threat to score within 12 feet of the basket. She can score at all three levels. Mayes is fast, has quick feet, makes the extra pass, transitions well, and is a smart defender. She also walls up well, is physical competing for rebounds on both ends, and consistently gives guards a target for interior passes.
Elle Papahronis Elle Papahronis 5'11" | SF Edmond North | 2023 State OK , 6’0″, CG/SF, Edmund North, Team Trae Young 2023, 2023 – The University of San Francisco commit had a consistently solid weekend. With strength, length, and quickness Papahronis worked very well in the mid-range game. She knocked down the high post shot, got to the hole with either hand, and hit teammates moving into space with catchable, quick passes. Especially in the semi-final and championship games her transition game really shined as she worked with speed and hustle.
Keeley Parks Keeley Parks 5'11" | PG Norman | 2025 State OK , 5’11”, PG/CG, Norman (OK), Team Trae Young 2023, 2025 – Even when not on a team as talented as hers Parks’ skill set is so diversified that she does not have to score much to impact her team. She makes everybody around her better. She is a serious perimeter threat including off the dribble step back but with her handles and solid speed she leads breaks fluidly and makes quick, catchable passes. She is quick enough to defend the length of the floor and uses her length to generate turnovers off with steals and deflections.
Allison Heathcock Allison Heathcock 6'0" | SG Edmond North | 2024 State OK , 5’11”, CG/SF, Edmund North (OK), Team Buddy Buckets 2023, 2024 – Heathcock is a huge mismatch for most teams. For starters she can play and defend four positions on the court. Heathcock also runs like a deer – with speed; bounce; and big strides; Her defensive quickness and length, especially when at the top of the team’s press, enables her deny entry passes well and pick off the over-the-top pass. She also has the ability to dribble through half court defenses to create shots for herself and her teammates, finish with either hand and with extension, and hit the mid-range and perimeter shot. Terrific shooter off the step-back, catch, and dribble move. Heathcock had a terrific scoring weekend as a result.
