Teams settled into the final day of the GBCA Live Event with a little pep in their step. We saw players just take over games down the stretch. There was tons of talent across each division and it was good to see teams compete against each other no matter the classification. Here are the players that stood out to me on Day 3.

I 5’5 I 2023 I Elbert County
Allen is a playmaker. Her scoring ability starts as soon as steps on the floor. A player that has the ability to score at all 3 levels and is always in attack mode. Her quickness and IQ allow her to access the defense and score at will. She wants the ball in her hands and knows how to get her teammates involved. A player that posted 20 points and numerous assists against a strong Brookwood team. Allen is the reigning AA Player of the Year and State Champion. She showed why she is one of the top players in the state and will be looking to build on her accolades this upcoming season.

I 5’3 I 2023 I Elbert County
Moon does all the little things to help her team be successful. A player that can get downhill quickly and scores well in the paint through contact. Rebounds well for her size and can step out to shoot the 3 ball. High motor guard that works hard on both ends of the floor. A player that knows how to take what the defense gives her and uses it to her advantage. Quick guard that pressures you as soon as you cross half court which allows for some easy baskets in transition. A player that will be on everyone’s radar this upcoming season.
Danielle Osho I 6’0 I 2025 I Brookwood
Osho is a player that does it all for Brookwood. With her 6’0 frame she has the ability to play inside/out. Against Elbert County she was able to post up some of the smaller guards and get to the rim at will. A player that handles the ball well in transition and can step out and consistently hit the 3 ball. She had 16 points against the scrappy defense of Elbert County. A player that never stops working on both ends of the floor.
Otaifo Esenabhalu I 6’1 I 2023 I Lowndes
Otaifo was one of the top post players over the weekend. A post player that doesn’t mind playing with her back to the basket and banging on the block. She averaged a double double over the weekend and continued to get better each game. A player that runs rim to rim and is always looking to post strong in transition. Her guards know how to find her with the penetration drop down on the block. She is always ready to rebound and put back. Showed her ability to shoot the high post shot and the baseline shot.
Oashia Cushion I 5’5 I 2023 I Tift
Cushion is a pure shooter that doesn’t need much room to get her shot off. A player that loves the corner 3 and is always running to get to her spot for the open 3 ball. If you take away her 3 ball she knows how to get to the rim and finish. A player that hit 5 triples in Tift’s final game of the tournament. Her ability to play defense and force turnovers was something that stood out. Hit the game winning shot to lift her team past Rome.
Jakembre Beckhom I 5’9 I 2025 I Tift
Beckhom is a force inside that works hard on both ends of the floor. She crashes the boards hard which allow her to get some easy putbacks at the rim. Knows how to use her body to absorb the contact and get to the free line. A player that does all the little things. High energy player that her teammates feed off. Finished with a double double in her last game. Showed that post presence that Tift needed down the stretch.
Jemiya Winston I 5’10 I 2025 I Rome
Winston is an all-around guard that plays solid on both ends of the floor. The energizer bunny for her team. A player that is not afraid to play inside and out. Knows how to knock down the triple consistently and finished with 12 posts against Tift County. A player that knows how to get in spots to score at will. Runs the floor well and pushes the ball well in transition. Sees the floor well and doesn’t mind sharing the basketball with her teammates.
