The Cobras have been on the scene on the boys’ side for several years and they started the girls’ program and have had some early success. They won the championship at the Premier Sports Arch Elite Showcase in St. Louis two weeks ago.
Roster
Marvella Townsend (Hazelwood West): A 5’5″ combo guard who is a very good two-way player. She’s a good on-ball defender who plays the passing lanes well on defense. She is also a very capable scorer on the offensive end.
Deedee Walton (Lift for Life): A 2024 point guard who has excellent speed and quickness and a pass-first mentality. She distributes the ball well and she can make the open perimeter shot.
Kyra Williams (Homeschool): A 5’7″ 2023 guard who is a pure shooter from 3-point range. When she gets a good look from distance, she is going to knock it down.
Lauren Bennett (Lift for Life): A 6’0″ 2023 forward who has a very effective game around the basket. She has good moves in the post and a nice shooting touch. She is also a solid rebounder.
Charnay Davis (Hazelwood West): A solid wing player who is effective when slashing into the lane and can also score and rebound around the basket.
Kanise Mills Kanise Mills 5'6" | SG Lift for Life Academy | 2023 State MO (Lift for Life): A 2023 point guard who is an elite defensive player on the perimeter with her quickness and ball pressure. She is also an emerging offensive player with her ability to penetrate and score in the lane.
Saniyah Mann (Hazelwood West): A 2023 forward who is a strong finisher around the basket. She is solid on the drive and she plays well off two feet.
Rawan Alexander (Carnahan): A 5’5″ 2023 guard who is a quick and can slash to the basket very effectively. She can also compliment her driving game with her ability to make 3-pointers.
Wrakisha Banks (McCluer North): A 5’1″ 2023 pass-first point guard who can run the offense and keep things organized. She does a good job of distributing the basketball.
Ava Heideman (Timberland): A 5’4″ 2023 guard who does a good job of providing perimeter shooting. As a newcomer to the game, she continues to make big strides in all facets.
