Jalea Abrams Jalea Abrams 5'9" | CG Elmira High | 2023 NY |Elmira Fusion|5’9’’|CG
Abrams can fill up the scoring column fast and from all three levels. At Prime Event East, her explosion to the basket got my attention right away. She attacked her defender repeatedly with a quick deceptive first step and was under control in pursuit of the basket. Abrams shoots the ball well, too. She showed her range and hit multiple perimeter shots, some of which were contested.
Hayley Beebe Hayley Beebe 5'3" | PG Newark Valley | 2023 NY |Twin Tier Elite|5’3’’|PG
Beebe brings the energy from the tip and gives 100% every play. Her quickness and speed in the open court are eye-popping. With the ball, Beebe can get up the floor in a hurry and is very dynamic in scoring the ball. Even as a more undersized guard, Beebe isn’t afraid to challenge rim-protecting forwards, and I saw her convert some difficult finishes a few weeks ago in Albany, New York. I like Beebe’s motor and that she is a tone-setting point guard who plays with high confidence.
Kathleen Birmingham Kathleen Birmingham 5'10" | SG Niskayuna | 2023 NY | Elevate NYBC|5’10’’|SG
I first saw Birmingham early on in the spring at GymRat Live. Her size and versatility were things I noted immediately. She then displayed the ability to space the floor, relocate along the perimeter, and be a dead-eye shooter from deep. I liked how Birmingham wasn’t solely dedicated to standing along the three-point line. She used her length to be impactful around the basket and on the glass.
Chloe Hanson Chloe Hanson 5'11" | SF Moravia | 2023 NY | Twin Tier Elite|5’11’’|SF
I like Hanson’s versatility; she showed the ability to play multiple positions at the GymRat Challenge. She has excellent court vision, and I loved how she would look up every time she caught the ball, read the defense and see how the offense would unfold before using her dribble. Hanson has the strength and size to play down low and has good footwork around the basket. Hanson is patient on the block and shows soft touch on her finishes.
Tara Murray Tara Murray 5'10" | SG St. Mary’s | 2023 NY | LI Renegades|5’10’’|SG
The combination of size and shooting acumen will automatically get someone’s attention, and Murray possesses both traits. She has the ultimate green light from the perimeter and, throughout the spring, has displayed her limitless range. Murray has confident form, a quick release, and can shoot off the catch and move. I also like how Murray can handle the ball, get into the mid-range and score off the dribble if pressured tightly on the perimeter.
