Here we will take a look at a few players that helped themselves this summer and will be key gets for whatever schools offer them. These players have the tools necessary to go on to the next level and be productive college players!
Dacia Jones Dacia Jones 5'10" | CG Lafayette Christian | 2023 State LA – LCA (5’11) G
Why isn’t Dacia being highly recruited? Good question, the daughter of a coach the 5’11 wing is highly skilled and can play the 1-3. A lengthy kid who also plays the passing lanes will be a steal for whoever gets her at this point! Deadly from long range with the IQ of a pure point, I’m anxious to see where her recruitment goes while playing with a Loaded LCA team this year!
Deniya Thornton Deniya Thornton 5'11" | SG St. Amant | 2023 State LA – St. Amant (5’11) G
If your in the hunt for a kid who can be a lock down defender on the wing look no further. Deniya has elite length at the guard position and uses it well to block shots and get deflections on defense. Offensively she can do a variety of things, she has a great stroke from deep and loves to mix it up on the boards. With one SWAC offer i think more are soon to come.
Ty’lissa Henderson Ty’lissa Henderson 5'11" | SF Parkway | 2023 State LA – Parkway (6’0) SF
Where does she play at the next level is the question here. Henderson has all the tools to be a next level wing or she can be a hybrid post at the next level. Extremely long and athletic with a decent mid-range game Id love to see her expand her game out to the wing. One of those kids you can just put on the court and she will make something positive happen for her team! Mid Majors take notice!
Ja’nae Southall – Donaldsonville (5’9) CG
A big PG with a deep toolbox, every time I see Ja’nae play she does something to wow me. For her size she has a very creative handle that she use’s either to go by defenders or get to spots and pull up on them. After having a solid summer and receiving a Grambling offer I look for her to receive more SWAC attention this high school season. Ja’nae has the ability to single handedly take over games but at times she’s way to unselfish which I guess wouldn’t be a bad thing at the next level seeing as though everyone can just be scorer.
Kyra Bradley Kyra Bradley 5'6" | PG W. Jefferson | 2023 State LA – West Jefferson (5’7) Pg
Competitor, the best wat to describe the 5’7 Pg from West Jefferson high school. Kyra has led her Lady Buccaneer’s to two consecutive playoff appearances the latest last year as she avg 16.0 ppg. A kid that’s willing to guard the opponents best player no matter the position while giving the opposition buckets in a variety of ways. Super shifty with the ball in her hands, she gets in the lane at will and finishes at the rim in a variety of ways. Her leadrship is second to none as she goes usually her team follows. At the next level whoever takes a chance on her will be getting a 3/4 year stater at the point and an overall absolute DAWG.
