More then often the size is found in the northern portion of our state and sprinkle in a few from the southern parts and you’ll have a good selection. they come in all shapes and sizes athletes and bruisers, kids that can face up or play with there back to the basket, kids that are rim runners and kids that can pick and pop to the three point line. Here we will highlight a few of the Boots top post players regardless of class. (This is not a ranking)
Na’Kiyah Allen (6’1) – Northwood Lena
The class 1a state championship game MVP, Na’kiyah Allen has the body that helps her create a lot of space on the block and punish defenders. Solid with her back to the basket and handles well enough to get to the rim from 17ft, and also will face you up and take you off the bounce. A great rebounder in and out of her area who runs the floor well. The class of 2023 post should be seeing many low major D1 looks in her very near future.
Danai Lewis Danai Lewis 6'1" | C De La Salle | 2024 State LA (6’1) – De La Salle
I know Zach Randolph has a daughter but 2024 post Danai Lewis Danai Lewis 6'1" | C De La Salle | 2024 State LA is a Randolph clone. Standing at 6’1 the lefty is a bully on the block with great footwork who can play with power and finesse. Her up and under over either shoulder are beautiful and her knack for rebounding is second to none. Her strong lower half helps her establish position on the block. Recently I’ve seen her grab boards and start the break also finishing while going coast to coast. Danai holds a few D1 offers and i suspect more to come.
A’yiana Flemings (6’2) – Ursuline
The elder statesman on the list, the kid whos been so good for so long rather it was playing with her Lake City travel club or her Ursuline Hs team. This 2023 big is your prototypical back to the basket player who knows how to use angels to get position and finsish on the block. Her footwork is next level as she can finish over either shoulder and she’s great and the pick and roll game also having great hands! With a few D1 offers im curious to see where A’yiana lands!
Emerald Parker Emerald Parker 6'3" | C Ruston | 2023 State LA (6’3) – Ruston
The North Louisiana land lord 2023 Emerald Parker Emerald Parker 6'3" | C Ruston | 2023 State LA is best described in one word (LONG). This post prospect is best in transition out racing her opponents to the rim and finishing where she is a long lefty. A solid shot blocker and way above average rebounder Emerald will be a steal at the next level for whoever is able to get her on campus! Get a year of solid development and she can easily be the best big to come out of this class when its all said and done!
Whitney Hart Whitney Hart 6'2" | C Liberty | 2024 State LA (6’2) – Liberty
A kid who’s stock rose tremendously in July while playing with her Louisiana United Club team, Whitney’s ceiling is super high. The ’24 big is great at doing her work early and winning her spots in the post. Great length and a frame that will get stronger, her timing and shot blocking ability are next level! She favors finishing over her left shoulder once shes able to go both ways she’d be virtually unstoppable on the block.
