Christiana Young Christiana Young 5’5″ | PG Parkland | 2023 State NC will be playing with Parkland this year for her senior season. She will bring a lot of leadership for her team finding ways to facilitate plays and take over leading by example when she is needed to. She can score from anywhere on the court including driving hard to the basket to get some points no matter what kind of contact waits for her. She can shoot it well from deep, too, and it’s no wonder she was able to get her 1000 point honor early in her high school career.
Faith Robertson Faith Robertson 5’4″ | CG McMichael | 2023 State NC has been an impressive point guard since her middle school days being able to read the floor and know exactly how to score some points. She can thread the needle anywhere on the court getting her teammates the ball. She knows how to reposition herself to make the best pass, or she can take it all the way to the hoop herself creating space between her and her defender. Don’t leave her open around the perimeter, either, as she can certainly knock down some shots. She holds an offer from Keystone College.
Maraja Pass Maraja Pass 5’6″ | PG Winston-Salem Christian National | 2023 State NC has found a new home with Winston Salem Christian this year, and she is certain to have a big senior season. As someone who has already won a state championship, she is certain to bring a lot of experience running the point guard position as she is quick with her decisions and difficult for anyone to keep up with her. Her IQ has been high her entire high school career, and she is a three level scorer all on her own. She does well moving without the ball finding the gaps on defense as well. She holds offers from schools like UNC-Greensboro and Winston-Salem State.
Christina Delisa
Christina Delisa
Christina Delisa is definitely a leader for her teams on the offensive side of the ball controlling the tempo, making nice passes, and scoring herself from anywhere on the court. What makes her a fun athlete to watch in my opinion is her defense. She is definitely an “in your face” defender stopping opponents from getting around her, jumping into passing lanes, and diving on the floor for loose balls. She is known to grab steals even when she is the only one pressing, and she definitely knows how to quickly move it the other direction to score some points.
Lily Pereira Lily Pereira 5’10” | CG Wesleyan Christian Academy | 2023 State NC ‘s height as a guard makes her versatile and an asset all over the court. She can crash the boards grabbing rebounds. She has no fear driving to the basket, and she can score herself or make a nice dish to her teammates. She elevates over her opponents when shooting from deep, and her movement with the ball makes it hard for defenders to know how to guard her effectively. Her toughness is a key piece to how she plays knowing how to protect the possession and be a difficult defender.
