Madison may be a bit undersized, but that shouldn’t persuade you to think any different about her game. She is a fearless player on the court and not afraid to go against a player of any size. She loves to play defense and take charges. Two things that coaches absolutely love. I have seen her take charges on players much bigger in size. During the expo she took multiple charges. At the expo she played with high energy and helped her team go 3-0 on the day. She played well with her teammates and showed her passion for the game and also her skill set. Madison is a hard working player with all the intangibles that should not go unnoticed.
Highlights
Playing against seniors in high school at the expo did not faze the class of 2026 combo guard Elle. She proved she can hold her own just fine with older players, as she played on the varsity team at Notre Dame Academy as just an 8th grader. In her 8th grade season she averaged over 10 points per game. She is a fearless defender. She can guard multiple positions, and plays really tough. She communicates well, and works hard to get through screens. Offensively she is just as effective playing Point Guard, or Shooting Guard. She can shoot the ball well, and also be a strong slasher attacking from the wing. She may not be the quickest player on the floor, but she makes up for that in many different ways. She looks to be playing confident basketball and will continue to get more attention as she gets older.
Shelby played tough at the expo. She played with high energy and intensity. She made a bunch of smart passes to set her teammates up and also did a good job scoring the ball. She is one of the more physical guards I saw at the event. She plays well within the flow of the offense and plays good team basketball. She lets the offense happen and doesn’t force anything. She is a patient player. On defense she makes it tough for ball handlers to get by her. She has a good stance, and is active jumping the passing lanes. Shelby is a Combo Guard, who is effective on both sides of the floor.
